The SCOTUS is part of the Branch that is resistent to change |
|
Hopefully this is post is not the same idea as many others...
Lets not talk about fighting not fighting, I want to look at this from a different direction.
The SCOTUS has always been a life long institution that seems to be the only branch that is resistent to large scale change over a short period of time. This is a natural consequence of the justices being appointed for life and could be on the court for 50 years if so desired and God willing. The Republicans have controlled our government (for the most part) since Nixon took over. To think that the SCOTUS would be mostly conservative as the liberals take control after the treasonous scandal that will rock the country takes all the power away from the Republicans is not nessisarily against what the founders intended. The court's resistence to change is partially what has helped keep one party from gaining too much power at one time.
