Oh God! I've become a Sharpton fan. |
|
I can't help it. The man is a damn good speaker. The more he speaks the more I like him.
He's killing it at the Congressional Black Causcus thing!

2. Amen, Brother Sharpton!! |
|
I am afraid he is going to tear a vocal chord! If the sound was off you would think he was Hitler rousing a crowd like they have never been fired up. What a speaker. He is tearing them up! Hope it will be replayed.

What the hell you talking about Hitler for? Damn. Is it hurting you that bad that Sharpton is getting an audience?

10. Sorry, what I meant was, when you see the old films of Hitler he was just |

raving, spit flying and the crowd all roused up. No offense, please, I just was sitting here choked up listening to him just rave, hoping he wouldn't blow out a vocal chord. What a speaker.

It just seemed like there were other characters who shouted when they spoke you could have referred to, but you chose Hitler. I didn't know if you were using sarcasm to put down Sharpton, but I see that you weren't.
My bad.

Can you imagine him as your press spokesman? Man. The country really would get more democratized because this kind of reality tv just might make the average man take a peek.
In fact when you think about why the average person is likely to tune in, is that Sharpton has the ability to speak about complicated things, in a way we can understand and relate to. You don't get bored and confused, listening to codes and doubletalk.
He's straight down the highway, straight down the middle.

he can explain complicated issues in a simple way and still get you on his side because he's a straight-talker. His appeal is vastly underrated in my opinion.

I don't know why I had some negative impression of him (until recently). He's smart, well spoken, and usually right on the money.
Are there some things in his past that carry any negative stigma? Or is it just because he's black that he doesn't get as much serious consideration? just wondering..

why is it always about Clark? Did you know that Sharpton graciously welcomed him to the party?
There seems to be an obsession here. And Clark is not even the frontrunner now.

i think it's an appropriate one. sharpton's past seems unforgiveable to some...some are willing to overlook clark's, including sharpton himself. you were mentioning the "negative impression" of sharpton...it's all about his past. some will never let the tawanna brawley incident die...the comparion to clark's past is appropriate.

... His diplomacy is horrible. But I absolutely LOVE how he puts it ALL OUT THERE.
He is the only one who has the COURAGE to say OUT LOUD all the things that we ALL think. He says all the things that we say to ourselves and that we type here on DU. --- The things that you would LOVE to hear a front-runner politician say... but those are the things that front-runners would be crucified by the press for saying.
Go Al!

I'm not real thrilled about what he's done in the past, but I think that beyond his wit, he's voicing our party's concerns, and voicing them well.
