Roberts was recommended by . . . Joementum!
http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-scotus0714.artjul14,0,4264662.story?coll=hc-headlines-politics

<snip>
Lieberman said he was pleased with how the White House has handled the process so far.

"The administration has taken very encouraging and constructive steps," Lieberman said.

. . .
Lieberman offered reporters Wednesday three names he said could be considered without sparking a talk-athon. He would not say whether he brought them up to Rove.

He said federal appellate Judges Michael McConnell and John G. Roberts were "in the ballpark," and that "people tell me" appeals court Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson is "very similar."

Lieberman emphasized that should they be nominated, they would be carefully scrutinized.
<snip>

The fix is in.

1. I was thinking: "I bet LIEberman loves this pick".
And I was right. I think Joe is hankering for another kiss.

20. Thanks, Joe
Someone whom I truly respect once told me, "Thou shalt not speak ill of another Democrat." Even when we disagree on certain issues like gun rights, I try to be civil and remember where the other side is coming from.

This, however, is the straw that broke my back. First Lieberman helped the GOP torpedo the Owen filibuster, and now he's cast his vote of support for Dread Pirate Roberts. Who's side are you on, Joe?!?

With all due respect and apologies to DLC members on DU who are really trying to help the party as a whole, I'm fed up with the DLC bigwigs who are sabotaging us on a nationwide level. Thus, I present this song for your singing pleasure:

Fuck the DLC
They wrecked our party system
They don't give a damn 'cause they're
Career politicians
They trashed Howard Dean
They cost Kerry the election
It's time we kick them out and
Take the Dems in new directions

BAYH and TAUSCHER - time to clean your fuckin' desks
LIEBERMAN and LANDRIEU - selling out has made you lame
HILLARY and BYRON - last chance to jump the ship
So CONYERS and BOXER can live in peace without these dicks

(Sung to the tune of Fuck the Middle East by S.O.D. Sing it in the car, in the shower, at your next Democratic Party meeting, or anywhere you feel like singing!)
