Republicans say "democrats like to spend money"
This is a major reason why many say they are repubs. They view dems as free-spending liberals.

And yet which republican president in the last 30 years has spent LESS than a democratic president? It seems they might cut taxes, but they always get up to their necks in debt. So obviously they're not spending less.

Most notably Reagan and Bush W. They spend money like there's no tomorrow.

I don't get it - why don't repubs get this?

1. Screw the repigs, why isn't America's POPULATION getting this?
Even at Gay Pride 2003, the repigs had their booth -- with the usual slogan of "the party of fiscal responsibility". I gave them a very hard angry glare but did not confront them, mostly because they're not worth my time. Besides, they were arguing with another person already. :D

10. Republicans like to borrow money, and spend it
They never proposed a balance budget from what I can remember, the Democrats did.

4. Because they are people who are led and who scorn thinking
Republicans always spend more because they always "lose" large sums of money during their administration and they always give out LOTS of corporate welfare and defense spending which somehow never counts as government spending. The Republican idiots believe them when they say the opposite of what they really do though.

6. Here's a very good set of graphs showing gov't spending over the years
http://oregonstate.edu/Dept/pol_sci/fac/sahr/sumbudg.pdf

Bush does not compare well to past presidents w.r.t. spending. Note that the graphs only go up to 2002; 2003 is going to be a "banner" year for spending and the deficit.

7. Tell the sheeple something often enough .. they believe it!
Most don't research or try to find the truth...they are too busy!

One day soon, I'm afraid we will all have more time on our hands that money or anything else to really find out what the truth is :(

13. Since Kennedy was president, republican presidents have always
had larger federal deficits in current dollars, in constant dollars and as a percentage of GDP, than democratic presidents. http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2004/sheets/hist01z3.xls (The estimates for 2003 and subsequent years are no longer applicable. The current estimates are for higher deficits. Also, the numbers for the first year of a presidential term are from the budget of the preceeding term.)

15. borrow & spend, credit card republicans
the fact that Democrats don't repeat this over and over again like a mantra every chance they get... is EXACTLY what's wrong with the gutless (most of) the Democratic party these days.
