Alright hotshots, what sort of campaign will win in 2004? |
|
I think we already know that the media will parrot whatever the BFEE wants due to it's natural leaning to the party in power, the Consolidation (Conservative ownership), and the 9/11 phenomena of overwhelming Fear. There will be flashes of criticism but the Dem candidate will be ravaged 24/7.
I think Gephardt made a great point with his comments that if "We" got caught telling a whopper of a lie, to make a case for a war in the SOTU, that they'd be buying rope and looking for a strong branch. That hasn't been the case with Bush, yes there's been some comments, but you know damned well that it's muted/filtered compared to what Clinton or Gore would have got.
The Traditional Campaign of raise as much money as possible, do the debates, try to turn out the faithful and pray for a win?
Somehow I doubt that'll do it.
PS~ I have made the assumption that the BFEE will not "tie their own rope", which may in fact happen.

1. The BFEE hasn't let us down so far.... |
|
They are going for the trifecta...a Hoover, Nixon and Bush Sr. kinda term. I vote they hang themselves with loads of rope leftover.

Currently two Democratic candidates are amassing vibrant and powerful grassroots organizations. That fact along with the meltdown (in progress) of the BFEE leads me to believe that the shrub's days in office are numbered.
Grassroots support will win the day in 2004.

3. Security, Economy, International Reputation |
|
Funding 'homeland' security, repealing the tax cuts and investing in our economy, restoring international diplomacy and engaging that community in rebuilding Iraq. And a real message to the rank and file that Democrats are the party of the people. We didn't cut overtime, schools, child tax credits, veteran's benefits, etc.
