Hey, all you ABBers
It won't matter WHO the candidate is if we don't solve the voting machine problem. If YOU want George Bush out of office, go here, get involved:

And don't underestiate either the machines to deliver the goods, or the various and sundry vote supporession and other vote fraud techniques the Repugs have up their sleeve.

6. I think I understand what you mean pansypoo
If, by November 2004, something like 80% of American voters are fed up with Bush and go to their polling place intending to vote for the Democratic candidate, could "they" really get away with stealing 31%+ of those votes?

Sounds pretty fantastic. Pretty unbelievable.

I can see them getting away with it.

Keep in mind 3 things.

1. The media controls poll results we hear about and "they" control the media. Either by asking leading questions in the polls or by tweaking the results, we saw Bush's polling numbers stay high even when millions of Americans were taking to the streets to speak out about his foreign and economic policies. The intentions of the 80% in the above example may not be reflected in published polls, so it may not seem like "they" had to steal so many votes.

2. We no longer have a credible, accepted exit polling system. After the Voter News Service (VNS) was "wrong" about Bush v Gore in Florida 2000, it was disbanded. There is an independent movement to form a new exit polling entity (www.pollwatch.net for example) but they don't have the same aura of credibility that VNS had. If they do start to develop more credibility, you better believe "they" will do whatever it takes to tear them down. Exit polling was a very accurate barometer of voter intent.

3. "They" don't care if they get caught by some zealots on the Internet if "they" still get away with it. As long as Congress, the Supreme Court and the media don't start screaming, I believe "they" would be very comfortable stealing 30% or even 40% of the votes, if it keeps them in power. Without proof - like multiple, widely published, credible polls showing clear voter intent - I don't think any of those will be screaming foul.

I would like to think that the American people themselves would scream loudly enough to bring them down, but their response to the 2000 election and the revelation of the lies that led us into the war in Iraq don't indicate that.

The only hope I see is to educate people now. Challenge the electronic voting machines now. The hope is we can keep them from stealing the election before it happens. But if we fail in that to some degree and some Americans have their vote stolen, then we have to go on a big I Told You So campaign. At least we won't be starting from scratch on November 3, 2004 like we did on November 8, 2000.

...I think the invite should be also extended to those who are so pro-one candidate that they have admitted they won't vote for anyone else.

So get involved and help the only candidate who is worthy win.
