Jesus wants to kill the non believers....
At least that's the way I'm reading the bushite Christian message today.

When did they get so far away from what I was taught in VBS 45 years ago?

1. "Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you...."
may the people who have lost the teachings find them again.

2. That's the NEW jesus
This Christian-right Jesus loves guns, war, capitalism and
beating up gays.

They got rid of that old Jesus cos he was speaking a lot of crap
about loving your fellow man and looking after the poor. Get
with the program already Jesus dude!

7. Jesus will be changing continually over the next few years...
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 07:50 PM by _TJ_
...in small steps, so small nobody will be really sure it's
actually happening, until eventually he will so closely resemble
George W. Bush that the two will be totally indistinguishable. ;-)

3. NO!!! Jesus rejected those who "used" God against humanity.
He opposed those who "used" God as an excuse for oppression and exploitation and taught that we are all equal in the eyes of a higher power which does NOT impose upon our will to do GREAT THINGS. Jesus told us that WE have the power to do greater deeds than even himself and he asked that we spread the message that God is NOT a hand of horror or tragedy or destruction but rather a force of Love and peace within each and every one of us.

I'm no longer a "Christian" but I still get really pissed off at those who disease the vision of Jesus Christ.

4. I'm the same way
I no longer call myself a Christian but I still highly regard Jesus Christ the man the spreader of peace, and I can't think of any word other than hate when I think of what so called Christians have done to the message of Christ.

The biggest killer of teachings of Jesus are Conservative Christians. or as Mark Twain said "If Jesus were alive today he wouldn't be a Christian"

I went to VBS a couple of years, too. Hadn't thought of that in ages! And you're right, today's Jesus is not even close to the Jesus I was taught.

The lure of material wealth.

12. I tell people this EVERY DAY! Tell everyone you know - over and over again
These people are ANTI CHRISTIANS!! They must be exposed for the vengeful lying money changers that they are. NOT ONE CHRISTIAN has dared to argue with me because THEY KNOW they can't win on facts - they are pedaling hate and they MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

18. That what "telling" them means. The only way out of ignorance is education
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 08:24 PM by Zen
...so I agree with you to a point - whatever language you are comfortable with - the point is these people need to be held accountable for their ignorance - you are only good if you are informed. Bush thinks he's good because he's an ignoramus! Do I have sympathy for him? NOT!
