Stephanie Miller is on vacation all week -- and SHE got a guest host
(hint, hint...AL! I'M TALKING TO YOU AL FRANKEN!)

It's somebody named 'Johnny Wendell'. Been listening for about 20 minutes, and he sounds good and angry. More importantly, he's discussing things that happened TODAY, not 3 weeks ago...

I did some googling on him, and apparently he used to be in a punk band. He sounds like it. :)

Now if all the others would do the same...
I stopped listening for the most part because it always seemed like "best ofs" were on. I was in the habit of listening daily but now listen more to Talk Left, NPR and BBC.

Malloy is another one that needs more guests host. He had them a few times but still alot more "best ofs" then I can take.

2. Yeah, he's really good.
He said that for 2006, he will have a litmus test. He will only vote for Democrats who call for a complete withdrawal from Iraq.

4. Yes - he's great (and on all week)
Yes!

He sounds very passionate and angry - it's getting me all fired up, especially since the news on Bolton came across the wires today. It seems that he can be heard on the weekends, 10 - 1 (and, might I say, Yum! :D)

5. I try to listen to Stephanie Miller but it is just a waste of time ....
Edited on Mon Aug-01-05 09:42 AM by meti57b
Large amounts of air time are spent with her and her co-host giggling back and forth about something that is not related to any political issue, in between their little giggles and snorts there is actually dead air time.

Her approach is to state important issues as preposterous (and of course a lot of them are preposterous) but she does that on everything she says, followed by minutes and minutes of giggles and snorts.

On top of all that, there are extremely important news and issues of the moment but her show always takes quite a bit of time for "Tinsel Talk", some inane gossip about show business celebrities.

Her program is on KTLK in Los Angeles during the morning drive... that is a key radio listening time slot.

If all that isn't enough, there are constant unnecessary background sound effects ... drum rolls, snips of noisy "music". And yes, she does have a high-pitched squeaky voice, which she seems to emphasize.

I am looking to pick up ideas and info for my debate for the day with the right-wingers in my life and I'm not getting that. So, other than all that ... how do I like her show?? Not much.

Attn: AAR - KTLK ... please bring back Mark and Maren. (Hope I spelled that right.)

8. She is a comic ......
Lighten up and drop the tofu and sprouts on whole wheat sandwich.

She was one of the ONLY national media hosts to talk about the stolen
election ...... She did that at the risk of her career and you want to
bitch? Go listen to Franken who will not touch the stolen election.

Stephanie :loveya: Miller

10. Morning drive time is supposed to be fun and lighthearted -
And she's had John Conyers on the show (and appeared at the house parties).

Morning drive time radio is supposed to be fun - and she takes quite a few shots at MSM. I tend to go back and forth between Jerry Springer and Stephanie Miller.

9. Thank god for the comedy.
I would fall asleep at my desk if I had to listen to Springer, which comes on at the same time in Cincinnati. I have to listen to Miller over the internet.

The whole point of the show is comedy.

6. I've Like What I've Heard From Stephanie
I'll be in LA this week and give her a closer listen (my radio will probably be on KTLK 24/7...LA radio isn't what it used to be), and I'm also curious about the morning show there.

I heard Jay Marvin this morning...not sure if he was sitting in for Springer...but it was great to hear him fill in for Ed Schultz last week. But then I'm biased...Jay's an old friend and really deserves his own show on some network.

Also, there a lady in Pittsburg, Lynn Collum, who has been doing Progressive talk for years and would be a great addition or substitute host.
