How do we make them understand?
I think framing is priceless, however I have NO skill at it. How can we make politicians understand that bowing to the religious fundamentalists in this country is no different than lawmakers bowing to fundamentalists in Pakistan, etc.?

1. You don't...too many of them
are fundies themselves, so this is exactly what they want

9. I know they don't see it, that's why I'm trying to figure out how to frame
the issue in a different light. I want them to see the parallel, I just don't know how to frame it.

4. surprisingly, there are not that many fundies
they ie pigmedia and hushtorians etc have consistantly played up the xian fundy angle, but it's easily offset by the sneaky sinner badass crowd (see porn profits, or drug abuse stats and profits, or crime stats or even the fact 100 percent of humanity {except me and you} masturbates sometimes, and masturbation is a same sex relationship, technically)
hypocrisy was one of the standout things in the bible that made jesus rather short tempered...if he can be said to have loathed anyone, it was the hypocrites who said one thing then did the opposite; even thieves and whores and toughs had christ's respect compared to the hypocrites, and the church, all churches, are by nature fulla hypocrites (after all, who buys all that porn, and dope?)

7. I don't think I agree with that statement.......
There is a big difference between Christianity and being a fundamentalist. I understand that there are many Christians in our government offices, and I have no problem with that, unless they take it to the fundy level, and most do not. Fundies by the most generous estimates only make up 28% of our population. I agree that there may be a few in office, but I don't think there are that many.

2. With the only language they understand. No donations. No votes.

It's amazing how "attuned to the voters" they suddenly become when their bank accounts start getting low and their poll-numbers drop.

8. Don't give them the answers.... Give them questions
They accept because they have what they believe to be the answers to their questions, the problem is they have the wrong set of questions.

Questions lead to thought answers lead to acceptence.

Is the Bible an answer or a question?
