Bush Installs Bolton, Angering Democrats - Right! And?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050801/ap_on_go_pr_wh/un_ambassador_21;_ylt=Ak9FCMLbkCT_1yG_T6fJkQBqP0AC;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

That headline slays me.

OK, I am in a foul mood, so those with delicate sensibilities may want to pass by.

Exactly what do the Dems intend to do?

Nothing.

Oh, they make statements like this:

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (news, bio, voting record), D-Mass., called the appointment "shameful and irresponsible." Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada called Bolton "seriously flawed and weakened." Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said Bolton was a man who "bullies, marginalizes and undermines those who do not agree with him."

And that means exactly.... NOTHING!

Bolton lied on a sworn affidavit and presented the lie to the Judiciary Committee. This is called PERJURY! But will the Vichy Dems hand it over to the US Attorney and demand prosecution?

Hell no!

They'll just sit around and whine "diplomatically". But they'll never use words like "liar", "thug", or "sexual pervert". That wouldn't be "civil".

They'll just bow down before Bush and continue to massage his prostate with their tongues.

After all, why should they care? Their jobs are safe. They collect $140,000+ a year of OUR money, plus generous pension and health benefits. Then they get about a cool million a piece to hire a staff to wait on them hand and foot. And if voter's are too goddamned stupid to see them for what they are, well that the VOTER'S fault, not their's.

So, why rock boat. Bush gets what he wants, they get a nice job. All they have to do is PRETEND to care.

And when they get tired of the "peanuts" they make in D.C., they can get jobs as lobbyists making twice as much money.

Am I pissed? Fuck yeah!

OK, I am going to go pet my cat now before my blood pressure hits a new high.

did you see the article about how they kept Richard Holbrooke on hold for FOURTEEN MONTHS, and he refused to accept a recess appointment?

It's the Democrats. Pretending to be angry about something they will do nothing about. Democrats are a bunch of beat down abused dogs. They may bark now and then at noises in the night but when their republican masters come out the door to shut them up they all scatter and cower in the corner. yipe yipe yipe.....

as soon as they discover that you are NOT going to play the game and be all nice, dress in a suit and play the game, they won't let you run.

The Dems need vicious attack dogs who will sink their TEETH into conservatives and worry them like a shark.

The CLOSEST thing we have right now is Hackett in Ohio.

I wish I lived there and could vote for him. Any man who calls Geroge Bush a "son of a bitch" IN PUBLIC is a man we need in congress.

and stop with the wussified language.

Situation:

*REALLY*

mad, his "deep regrets".

Not the same thing. They should make sure that the word "liar" becomes his middle name between now and then.

This is the tactic that the Right uses. The difference is, they do so with lies. Our side can't manage it with the truth.

You are a grown man, begin a campaign that will not allow them to sit silent and do nothing. Begin an effort to make your concerns be heard. Or would you rather just sit and whine.

I for one know that we made them act in January, if they know the majority of folks care, they will do something. Maybe you want to put your angry energies in to doing more than just bitching.

We have enabled them. We have to force them to act, just like we did in January. We have to organized focused efforts to all of the dems in congress insisting they do something. We have to empower them.

Blow off steam all you like, taking some positive action would be much more beneficial to you and the nation, but that is just an opinion. Have fun ranting without purpose.

I have long thought that a Bolton in the UN will be a great discredit to Bush.

23. Start publicly denouncing this fascist cabal for the fascist cabal that it
is, and call for a general strike among all non-republicans in order to shut down the country and save democracy in the US.

Tell the plain truth about what is really going on.

This would be far better than the present fascist dictatorship which was brought about by undemocratic electoral and criminal manipulations, and better than a future dictated by permanent fascist republican ownership and control of the our voting process and hence our government.

Democracy in America is dead, and Bu*h and his fascists cohorts killed it.

It is time everyone admitted the obvious: We are never going to regain a democratic government on the national level through democratic processes, because they no longer exist in the US. Until electronic voting is outlawed, fascists will be in control of our country.

Other measures are now necessary and we need a strong, vocal, visible leadership to unite us behind the banner of removing the criminal cabal from power, indicting and imprisoning them, and restoring genuine transparent democratic processes.

They don't control either house, so they cannot call for hearings. They can do like Conyers did about election fraud and hold hearings that are not covered by the media and that are ignored by the masses. Then there was the DSM hearings, held in the basement and again, ignored.

Refer for prosecution, you mean prosecution by the same fellow that wrote the torture memos?

I am serious when I ask, what the fuck can the dems do?

35. The media wouldn't ignore them
The media would put it all over the place. And the right-wing echo chamber would kick in. So what? A good portion of this country is sick of politicians who REFUSE to speak the truth.

If politicians won't stand up for themselves, why should the press.

As long as we make excuses for senators and congressman they will keep behaving this way.

Look what happened with Boxer? When she saw the voters had her back, she started telling the truth. Did it change anything? No, because the rest of the senate pussed out. But when it comes time for re-election, we have to make sure that Boxer and Conyers KNOW we support them with our DOLLARS!

Again, why should the press pay attention for folks who won't stand up for themselves?

Conyers and Boxer are a START!

Dems are lucky when the Repukes allow them a committee room in Congress or a working microphone.

Repukes gave a clear message right after 911 when they sent anthrax to the Dem leaders in Congress. What did the Repuke FBI do? Nada, nothing, squat. Now Dems suffer from Stockholm syndrome and agree with everything the terrorists (Bush & crew) demand from them.

24. Here's what I would have liked the Dems to do....
They should have told Shrub that if he recess appointed Bolton they would put a hold on John G. Roberts' nomination to the SC.

As simple as that.

56. Or possibly past January...
If I understand correctly a Senator can put a hold on a nomination for as long as they want to.

Hillary Clinton had placed a hold on the EPA Administrator's nomination for a time, because she was asking the Administration for some info, and they ignored her request.

She eventually removed the hold; but I think any Senator can place a hold on a nomination for as long as they want.

We need SOMEONE who has balls. Where's Barbara Boxer? Why isn't she raising hell? Or how about John Kerry? Where's the 1970's Kerry? We need him.
