3. Just checked it out
Ewww - some silly home show. Looks like HGTV or some show on A&E.

Thanks for the channel number. :hi:

2. last night between midnight and 1 am, no mention of politics
only "human interest" type stories. I hope it's not like that all the time.

5. Wasn't Worth The Loss Of A Good News Service
I could trust NWI, particularly CBC, and now just what sure looks like a lot of fluff and no substance what so ever.

6. But Newsworld was for sale because of low ratings.
It would be gone about now, anyway.

If you assume momentarily that Al Gore didn't cause the loss of "Newsworld," then what do you think of "Current?"

9. Good point.
There are threads at DU about "Air America Radio" content, but I don't recall threads at DU about "Newsworld International" content, outside from saying it's bad it's going off cable.

14. Actually
this DUer bemoaned the loss of NWI on most Current threads.
NWI was my only TV news source, other than the Daily Show and Al Franken.
Excellent international coverage with no fluff.
They were a packager, with English newscasts from around the world, with some excellent in- depth reporting. No-one linked to NWI itself, because it was the distributor of other English language newscasts.
For example, if you saw an interesting Deutsche Welle story, you would link direct to that.
NWI wasn't a web site to link to like CNN.
This morning I went to get some real news and instead there was a young woman complaining about her boyfriend.
:(

11. i liked nwi but if everyone only watched it as much as i did
no wonder it is gone.

there were some good in depth investigative stories from the cbc which impressed me.

i will give goretv a chance.
