Perpetual campaigning is so tedious. |
|
We have just been "granted" 4 more dreary years of *²just 8 months ago, and already we are seeing "Road to the White House '08" and campaign ads that are obviously intended to boost any number of possible "contenders"..
When do the people we elect ....SERVE?
This whole thing is just plain nuts..
The ONLY thing we need to concentrate on is how to make the election PROCESS accurate, easy and recountable..
The massive quantities of hot air and MONEY are wasted totally if we spend precious time even considering "who will run" NOW..
Each party really only has a few truly viable candidates, and after the dog and pony show of the primaries, each will field a candidate,.Big whoop.. It's always that way..
The thing is this... whoever the republican candidate will be, is already a "winner" without even knowing who he is or who his opponent will be..
If the shifty voting mechanism is not addressed BEFORE any primary is held, we are right back at square one...
I know it's a tough nut to crack, since the republicans like things just fine, so they will not be eager participants in the effort, but we MUST keep the media at least a little bit focused on how we vote...more than for whom we vote..

2. There seems to be a 'campaign industry' nowdays |
|
Consultants, pundits, publicists, fund-raisers, bookers and 'professional party hosts', etc...
For some reason, I don't think the founding fathers envisioned that.

3. All because of the "Soylent Green" SC decision. |

Corporations are people.
Easy solutions. I've got a million of them.
