John McCain and Lindsay Graham torture bill...
I just saw this video on crooksandliars.com from "Face the Nation." Apparently the two are making a bill that says you can't do any type of torture during war. I think they are doing this probably mostly to protect our troops because of word of Abu Grahiab and Guntanamo. Bush is of course trying to kill the bill. :eyes: The host of "Face the Nation said: "Does that mean we endorse torture? Of course not. But what will the other side make of those words? John McCain has no more sympathy from the terrorist no more then I do. He is worried about our soliders. He knows that if the enemy knows we're torturing their people they will be more likely to torture our people. John McCain has never been a favorite of this administration but they should pay attention to him on this one. He was learning about torture while some of them were still in graduate school. The gallant young men and women we are asking to fight this war are already paying a terrible price. Let's not make it even more dangerous for them. Listen to John McCain."

My question is: why didn't they think about this in the beginning before all the abuse in Gitmo?! DUH!

1. Isn't this what the Geneva Convention was all about?
And didn't we sign the articles from that convention? Aren't we still bound by that treaty?

Once he'd finished picking off the fleas and sponging away the simian stench, well, gaw-lee, it was already November 3rd - too late!

4. That was a pretty good rant by Sheiffer, but he asks the question...
"Does that mean we endorse torture? Of course not."

WTF...what else could it mean if * vetos that bill saying we shouldn't torture people. Amerika does endorse torture, no doubt about it.

8. They don't think, remember? They create reality
Like Indiana Jones, they make it up as they go along.
