You know, Democrats don't have to be quaking evangelicals...but they could do well to note once in a while the glaring contradictions between Christ's teachings and Republican policies.

"Jesus was a Liberal" is simply fact. You really can't refute that.

1. I was allergic to Christianity for years until ...............
I did some reading in the red letter version of the KJV Bible and said to myself, hey, if you do what Jesus said to do, and throw out all the hateful crap put in by Paul, etc, it's not such a bad thing.

4. know what ya mean
That's why I like the work of the Jesus Seminar (a group of scholars), like
"The Five Gospels : What did Jesus really say". They give much more accurate translations, and focus only on that. Mind blowing.
Paul did more damage to Jesus teachings than anyone.

5. Yep. And when was the last time you heard a fundie quote
from the beatitudes, lol?????

They are so hung up on Paul and Leviticus and Revelations and virgin birth.

8.  Lol I think the fundies have stopped readding the new testament .
The fundies just parrot to each, and twist around the verses of the old testament that suit thier political and social agenda. .

2. I love mike malloy
I go to episcopal mass regulary and I know quite a few dems in my congregation. Some of us know the differences between metaphor, and hyperboyle, flights of fancy, and truism. I.E. I personally believe Jonah and the whale was a story of over coming great depression. That is of course my opinion and I wont have the arrogance of turning my religios views into the law.
Mike Malloy is great I love his program allthough I am really late in turning it on to night. Replay of episodes 3 season 2 of battlestar galactica was on. And malloy has never offended me, unlike the president, fawell, and roberts who make me cringe in pain every time they open there hateful mouths.

Mike Malloy Rules.

6. Episcopals are cool. I especially have been influenced by
the books of Bishop John Shelby Spong. I am sure the fundies think he is going to burn in hell, so that automatically makes him my sort of minister.

3. Malloy really is correct - he speaks for me too
His rhetoric is very harsh but there really is something mentally disfunctional about Republican thinking (or lack there of)

9. When one truly believe in Bible, and words of Jesus spoke,
there's no doubt, you would be liberal. Jesus was true liberal. That is why, I am a liberal, because, I follow Jesus words.

Thanks Mike for speaking up!

10. In my life, I've determined that I love Christ and hate Christians.
I pretty much hate all organized religions, though. Can't stand the rah-rah team sport mentality (and the holy wars are kind of a drag, too).

I think your relationship with God should be a private matter, and it's nobody else's business. Just like it says in Matthew 6:5.

Most of these alleged "Christians" have never bothered to even open the Bible. There's some good stuff in there.
