1. The dumbing down of America continues.....
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 09:03 AM by bowens43
It's not bad enough that these thugs want to send all of our manufacturing and textile jobs to Central America, they also want to ensure that the US loses the lead in science and technology.

5. Why not teach that the world is flat too, while we're at it?
There's as much evidence for it.

9. Bush's mere existence
refutes the theory of intelligent design. Why would an intelligent creator make a creature so stupid, cruel and corrupt?

the point I was going to make. Where's the intelligence in his design?

10. That's absurd. Until someone can make it a credible theory...
scientifically, it shouldn't be taught.

13. Science students in China & India just gave a big cheer!
There will be good jobs for them in the USA. Or they may not even need to move, as scientific progress deserts these shores.

it's one thing for some yahoo in Nebraska to want to be an ignoramus but WHY don't the corporatists see where all this is leading? If not checked, this country will, in two more generations, be too stupid to produce something for even a small living with which to buy anything.

15. bush is the typical conservative
To see more of the same go to the evil site. go to latest posts and enter 'crevolist' into the search bar and change the search criteria to 'By Keyword'. I could read this stuff for hours, it's hilarious. There are one or two reasonable people there (at least as far as science is concerned) but the majority are hard core young earth creationists. They think that all science of is a lie. They think that if we don't have all the answers then 'goddidit'.

If you think that their political views are medieval , wait till you see what they think about evolution in particular and science in general. The modern conservative wants to build a bridge to the 14th century.

22. Those things can't be important!!
Gotta keep them uppity women in the kitchen, their abortin' ways in the back alley of shame, and mostest of all them thar gay-type-not-reeel-murkin-people can't be allowed to be perceived as equals!

The fact that you live in a freezer's shipping container and your kids can't get past the 4th grade is not THAT pressing. Nor is the fact that they have no clean air or water, or that they're the next generation of cannon fodder.

Where's the spaghetti monster when we really need him? ;)

21. I did when I did my student teaching
I asked the class, "How many of you have been to church?" They all raised their hands. I said, "Good. So you know about 'intellegent design'". Now you're going to hear the scientific facts. What could they do? Fire me? I was doing my student tour. :)
