Republicans must (mis)understand American people are stupid and lazy.
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 11:10 AM by McCamy Taylor
Look at the evidence.

Re: the American people are lazy. They want to deny them their Social Security, which they have labored for. The only possible justification is that the GOP thinks that the American people do not work hard enough to justify getting their money back. They want to cut wages, force people to work unpaid overtime and two jobs---again, proof that they think that Americans are not working hard enough. They want to tax them disproportionately, meaning that they think that they do not contribute as much to society as the wealthy.

Re: stupid. They lie to them. Not only that, they tell them the same old lies over and over again. They tell them that Sadaam is the mastermind of world terrorsim and that he is just months away from a nuclear strike on the US. When that claim is proven to be false, they tell them that Iran is the mastermind of world terrorism and that Iran will soon have nuclear weapons with which to attack the world.

And they say things that just plain dont make sense, like "Gays getting married will cause straight people to get divorced". Or "Allowing terminal cancer patients to use medical marijuana will cause drug addiction."

I will be bumping this thread as long as the one about dumb and ignorant keeps getting bumped.

6. They must think that we are robots or something
I don't know anyone that can survive doing two jobs.
I remember back in Jan 2001 where I was working at a gas station, there was this guy that was working two jobs and had virtually no sleep. He drank bottles of caffeinated drinks and everytime I saw him he looked wiped out, his eyes were bloodshot and he just looked like he was going to pass out.

Told me he worked from 4:00am to 3:00pm on his first job and from 3:00pm to about 12:00am and had very little sleep.

I felt sorry for him...

12. Two jobs. pResident Not Worth A Damn thinks that's
uniquely American, and not enough sleep you say, from having to work two jobs? Well pResident Worthless ponders on that as well, and then he smirks. :argh:

wouldn't suprise me if he turns out to be the reincarnation of Hitler, or the Maquis de Sade himself.

15. I think you maybe right about that.
What I don't get is why some people, a lot apparently, think this self-serving jerk off gives a damn about anyone save himself? How can people be so completely fooled by this snake oil salesman.

Plus they want to have faith in someone that appears to be strong, self-assertive and who gives a damn what he does to our country!!

19. Strong and self-assertive?
Appearances aren't everything and actions speak louder then words. So gullible does fit. Does bush** indeed give a damn what he does to our country? I think not!

21. My mom tends to think he is..
she's a Bush-gushing lover of Bush... Need I say more?

She's the one that told me it's such a relief to see a President that is strong, assertive and doesn't back down. She's told me that the past Presidents (Clinton maybe?) were wimpy and namby-pamby towards countries that were considered our enemies. That Bush doesn't take no for answer and yada, yada, yada..

Hell she liked Nixon.

Tells me she isn't Republican but anyway you slice it, dice it and marinate it... she's Republican.

27. I think what (some)people wanted was to feel good about
themselves by electing a President that is even more un-informed, ignorant and frankly, more stupid and lazy than they are... Boy did they get that in spades...

11. With the economy stumbling wildly out of control; thousands
being killed (more and more every day) for a war based on a pack of lies; traitors working out of the Red House (WH + innocent blood = Red House); oil at $61+ a barrel; and all of the rest of the horror show; the only really important thing is the Ten commandments in the court house and gay marriage! Finally, something worth voting for!

14. Republicans suffer from manager's syndrome or MBA
malaise. They think everyone except those they admit into their circle are slackers or, by projection, out to screw them. They continually engage in one-upmanship or gotcha games the same way managers do to control the business environment. The only stupidity I see happening is that workers have been conditioned to allow themselves to be abused and used and manipulated into believing that corporate bosses are somehow entitled to define their lives inside and outside of the work environment.

RW politicians speak to their constituency, not us. What is really happening is that they think their constituency is lazy and stupid. And they are.

24. Agree Repubs THINK this, but they are wrong. Esp. about the >60
crowd. They are in for a rude awakening. If the elderly, who vote mainly based upon fear, ever stop fearing terrorism and start fearing * and the GOP instead, the GOP is toast.

25. Social needs are paramount
I feel like my life is a race against the clock, trying to earn enough to take care of myself before old age sets in, with medical bills and the need for a paid-off house and everything else. If anything nasty happens to me between now and then I'll be toast.

It's clear that the GOP does not care about the skyrocketting costs for medical care, housing, and retirement, unless their intention is to start sending us to Mexico and Central America when we retire. By the time I retire, in 30+ years, that may be what I have to do.
