Pigboy is Scared (Hackett)
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 01:34 PM by maxrandb
I really try my best not to listen to this "ass-pickle", but like Michael Corleone in Godfather III; "everytime I get away, they pull me right back in".

I caught a few minutes of him on the way to the beach. Finally I have Ed Schultz here in "the peoples republic of Tidewater Virginia", complete with our own "state run AM radio programs". Thanks God for Ed!!!

Anyway, Pigboy was talking about Paul Hackett running in Ohio, and went to great pains to ensure his listeners that this would not be any kind of "bell weather", or referendum on *. He then went on to call Hackett "a typical Lib hiding behind a military uniform". Adding, "It didn't work for Kerry, and I don't think it will work for this guy". "Libs can't admit who they are". "So this guys hiding behind the military".

Now, stop for a minute and think how stupid Pigboy's "hiding behind a military uniform" and "hiding behind the military" statements are. Then see if you can remember another politician that recently played "dress up" in a military uniform, and chose to address the country from a military base with a roomful of soldiers.

Tell me again Pigboy who it is that is using the military!!!!???

1. This is really interesting...
because you know who feeds Rush his political information.

The fact that Limbaugh is trying to downplay the election as any kind of a "bellwether" means that the Republicans must be seriously afraid that Hackett is either going to win or get within a few percentage points of winning in a district the Bush coasted through just eight months ago.

I think so too. They know the truth about that district. I hope Hackett's campaign is keeping an eye on everything.

35. It is the shame, but sadly, their supporters fall for it every time!!
How else could these thugs attack Kerry, McCain, and Cleland and get away with it?

These chickenhawk pieces of shit shout "support the troops, support the troops!" and when an actual soldier runs against them, they tear them to shreds.

How can anyone with a conscience actually support these idiots?

expensive at the time. Of course, they have profitted greatly in return, and it has proved a financial return on their intial investment that would make Midas turn green with envy.

33. Some Repubs are staying home due to a nasty primary I think
They expect a very small turnout, maybe 20-25%. With that kind of turnout if the Dems have enough boots on the ground and can turn out the Dem base he may indeed have a shot.

43. I read that one of Schmidt's opponents was telling repubs to stay home
can't find it for you right now... (it's a thread in which a DUer posted his convo with an online repub buddy)

Also, from what I've been hearing on the radio all day - AAR

- for a summer election like this one 'they' would expect about a 12% turnout

- recent interest in the race made 'them' kick their guess-timate of turnout up to about 20%

- 'some' on DU have said anything over 20% bodes well for Major Hackett

(no linkage, just anecdotal stuff, sorry)

The chickenhawks may be seeing soethign they can't explain... those who are running with a military background are... DEMOCRATS.... GASP, but only conservatives serve... so says the talking points

15. Yep
Reminds me of what Jon Stewart said about this. On the indecision 2004 video disc they have of the republican convention coverage they show Cheney talking about the armed forces and how they're the best in the world etc. and Stewart shows a photo next of Kerry recieving a medal and says: "Unless they're running against you. Then they're pussies." It's so true. They did it to John McCain as well and he's one of their own!

8. Talk about supporting the troops.......
sounds like "gas bag" is putting them down. The same ones that are sweating and dying in Iraq so he can have the right to spew his garbage. He might just as well as say we don't care about your service in Iraq, your not good enough to run for Congress, because your a liberal and a Democrat. That could dampen morale.

Hey "gas bag" if your not for the troops then your against them....sound familar.

16. They did the same thing
to the Vietnam vets who were protesing the war in 1971. If you haven't watch the documentary "Unifinished Symphony" based on the Vietnam vets protesting then. People treated them the same way Hackett is being treated. It's really shameful. They only support the troops when they're good for photo-op's other wise: who cares? is their view point.

Liberals are now accused of joining the military and risking their lives so in the future they can run against true americans (repugs) who never serve. He's had the courage to speak his mind about Bush and is slammed. She mindlessly repeats the talking points and gets respect.

31. Yes! Your and My Tax Dollars Paying for One Hour of
Limpballs propaganda every day on Armed Forces Radio!!

Beautiful country, isn't it?

I imagine that some of the mindless Freeper Wannabes in the military think that Rush is more of a "true American" than Paul Hackett.

You have to give it to the Repukes. Their painting of the Democratic Party as the party that hates the military has been effective.

It's how they convince Americans that an AWOL, Chickenhawk, National Guard deserting person that defended the beaches of "Floribama" from the hordes of invading Vietcong, has a more stellar military record than a River Boat CO in one of the most dangerous places on earth, who was wounded three times and awarded a Silver Star.

Part of it is the willingness of the Repukes to use the military. Americans love to kick-ass. They respect strength. It's why bullies are able to get peoples lunch money, until someone stands up to them.

Democrats prefer to use our military to kick-ass, only when there is "ass that really needs to be kicked" like Hitler, or Osama Bin Laden.

Rush, and all the RW hacks, ought to just come out and be honest. You are working for the RNC and there is only one principle to defend...the status quo. It's all about keeping Republicans in power and you on the air, making $20MM/year, spreading the corrosive anti-Americanism that your politics embraces.

These befuddled right wingers live in an utterly alternate reality. It's the liberals and progressives that are responsible for nearly every positive development in America for the last century.

Myself?

I'm proud to sport a Democratic Underground.com sticker right next to the Airborne Special Forces decal on the bumper of my cowardly, liberal, anti-American, anti-military Mazda. Ha!

Screw the chicken hawks. Shame on them all. And especially, shame on that shit-spewing Pigboy. Shame...

The only silver lining in all this is that it's becoming clearer these brain-dead cowardly assholes are painting themselves into a corner built out of their own hypocrisy.

Payment is coming due. Perhaps slower than we need it to, but make no mistake it's coming.

This issue needs it's OWN action alert network. There have been too many instances, starting with Max Cleland in Georgia, in which they've smeared, won and gone on to do it again with impunity.

Is there an action alert network set up for this because I want to sign up and donate money.

I guess Limpy's peloidinal cyst, (aka: "Pain in the Ass Syndrome") the gem that kept him out of OD Green, Navy Blue, and Sky Blue, was better than actually going into the Marines and fighting the country's wars.
