OK... Fess Up... How Many Of You Thought Bolton Was Tossed Overboard ???
Even before I read this: http://raggedthots.blogspot.com/2005/07/john-bolton-rip...

I thought there was NO WAY * recess appoints Bolton!

Forgive me goodness... I was wrong.

They say confession is good for the soul, and since we know the rePukes are soulless, heartless, ghoulish bastards...

1. Nope, I didn't think he was gone. Only think that might have
made a diff was if he would have been indited before the recess. When that didn't happen, I was positive Shrub's arrogance would shine!

2. Never Any Doubt
bolton could have been convicted of murder, and Shrub was still going to recess appoint him.

Is ANYBODY in this country dumb enough to believe there was a second in time when this wasn't Shrub's plan? This was decided months ago, and was a mere formality yesterday.

4. The Arrogance of ** Knows No Bounds
and once he is in place, they'll use the :nuke: option to get him confirmed permanently.

5. I Never Had the LEAST Doubt...
...that this was exactly what he was going to do.

His handlers knew that bolton was dead where he stood.

** knew that it was almost pig farm/Jack Daniels vacation time.

6. I thought it would be possible
but only if Dubya wanted a very loud swan song.

Imagine how cooked Georgie's goose will be if Bolton turns out to be part of the Wilson/Plame outing, and it seems like the kinda thing he just couldn't pass up, doesn't it?

7. Recess all the way. Bush has to promote his most evil - doers
in order to protect his own ass.

9. I knew his nomination was dead in the Senate
And I surely didn't think Bolton would get a recess appointment. It didn't make any sense whatsoever for Bush to do that, as it would put a political hack into a temporary spot in the UN who wouldn't have any credibility and anything he tried to do would be resisted by other countries who knew they could just run out the clock on his lame duck ass.

But remember, two months ago, Bolton's nomination was a shoo-in, an all but certain, done deal. Bush had to resort to this cowardly expedient just so he could claim "victory." We'll see if he understands what a "pyrrhic" victory means.
