2. I am happy to see somebody keeping track of the days.
In '03 I think it was reported that he'd been on vaca more than any other WORKING pres, but that is the key word now, isn't it?

4. George W. Bush - the 24/7 president
24 hours a week, 7 months a year.

I don't remember who I DU posted that originally, but it's stuck in my mind!

5. Meanwhile hard-working Americans can even afford ONE WEEK
I hope he has a lot to think about while he's flying over all the people who can't afford to take ONE week of vacation because they're working two or three jobs just to barely scrape by.

Oh yeah, I forgot - that is just "uniquely American"

Eh, screw it - Shrub has been mentally on vacation for the last 20 years, I guess being physically on vacation isn't a stretch for him.

9. "But he still gets daily briefings"
yeah, right-like the briefing he got titled "bin Laden determined to strike US" in august of 2001! :grr: I can't think of any corporate CEO who gets that much vacation. Hell, my dad, a doctor who had his own private practice, would take that much time off-over the course of an entire YEAR. It's a slap in the face to EVERY working American that Little Lord Pissypants gets to fiddle away on a golf course while Iraq burns and the deficit rises. :grr: :grr: :grr:

11. Once again spitting in the face of soldiers
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 11:46 AM by lwfern
Vacations on demand for the commanders, daily attacks for the cannon fodder.

What kind of screwed up world is it where the soldier who signs up for 1 year can get trapped into a 20-30 year commitment, but their commander can just walk away from the mess he stuck them with, on the day his term is over?

Any president that sends the country into war should have to put on the uniform and go help fight it once his term is over.

Iraqis and George takes another frigging vacation-it's just really beyond words.

14. That, to me, is proof that we aren't really at war
Next time some pathetic little sycophant tells you "We're at war", shove this little tidbit in their face.

If we are at war, why does Bush inist on taking vacation?

Also ask them if they get five weeks of paid vacation.
