1. THANKS! I was just considering Tom Hartman, but I'm staying
with AAR now! I am very interested in hearing what Paul has to say about last night.

3. Just turned on AAR without knowing this as I hoped Hackett would be
discussed. I normally listen to Thom Hartmann.

5. so far, Al and Katherine discussing Hackett - - - Al wants to talk to DCCC
said they didn't support him at all until the end . . .

talked about Hackett calling bush an SOB and a chickenhawk - and not apologizing or taking it back, in fact yesterday he said he'd say it again - they said this is the kind of person Dems want and need - plain spoken and tough

Al said Paul Hackett DID have the advantage of running against the Wicked Witch of the West ... he laughed at her winning only 51.75% of the vote yesterday, since bush won by such a large margin ...

So far, no Paul Hackett - but after the break he's on!

6. Hackett: Al! How the hell are ya brother?" He's going back to Washington

to train with his unit this weekend

- Al talking about 14 marine deaths - so sorry to report that to everybody

Al - that was a big issue, (military presence in Iraq) also your outspokenness - 'bring it on' maybe the stupidest thing a CIC has ever said

Paul - I wish I could say ignorance, but that implies lack of education and that's not the case - so I have to call it (bush saying bring it on) stupidity

Katherine - why were you able to come so close? Even your advisors thought your language might have gone too far but you did not -

Paul - my take, it helped financially - and also, for every vote I lost I picked up 1 and a half votes.

I didn't hear from any vets criticisms of my prez comments (calling bush SOB and chickenhawk). News flash to the repubs: It was exactly the opposite response. The only negatives were from repub chickenhawks

I've not heard from anybody who has brought any criticism. I got feedback from vets saying I earned the right to speak my mind.

I've got to take a vacation after my drill this coming weekend ... but I'm going to think about future plans (political involvement)...

Al - is there any chance you'll go back to Iraq

Paul - yes if I stay with my unit, in 2006 that would happen

Katherine - message for the national party people?

Paul - we got tremendous help from the national party... if it had come earlier, I won't speculate ... we tried to keep their involvement low key and under the radar.... and that's something all dems need to keep in mind - keep national party involvement under the radar ...

that's it

edited for spell check

12. national party image problem?
You don't say. Half the people hate the DLC and the other half hate the latte liberals. Keep that mess out of campaigns, and wonderous things happen.

9. Great interview
He sounds very upbeat, certainly not like someone the RNCC "buried". LMFAO

Wish Al wouldn't have had to cut him off so soon though.

10. Howard Dean should offer him a job
They would work well together and he could mentor him on politics and introduce him to "the right people".
