The Holocaust Never Happened |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 02:36 PM by Beetwasher
It's an idiotic theory espoused by some (morons), why not teach it in history? If it's appropriate to teach "Intelligent Design" as an "alternative theory" to evolution and teach it in science class, why not teach this "alternative theory" of history in history class?
Discuss.

1. Yes. And let's include "Slavery was actually good for black folks." |

"It got them out of Africa, and brought them to America, where they would have more opportunity."
That's an alternative viewpoint of history that's certainly worth teaching, too. :sarcasm: :puke:

that might piss off the Jews (speaking of which, could someone give me some stats on Jewish-Americans and how they vote?) and keep the richer ones from contributing and the like. :sarcasm: Plus, if they taught that the Holocaust never happened, that might actually show how far America has gone.

I understand exactly what the OP was speaking about. If you would like me to explain, I will. I agree with what was said, being that I am an anthropologist and that I understand evolutionary science and its rammifications. I just curiously wanted to know about Jewish statistics, not to be offensive, just for my own education on the topic of ethnicity and party status, since I'm interesting in the cultures that create liberals and conservatives.

And you're coming HERE for those statistics?
I would think you would have better sources at hand than DU for that sort of thing.
I'm sure about a minute of Googling will lead you in the right direction if not give youe exactly what you need.

You know how hard it is to study American culture and actually get it past the Internal Review Boards? :eyes:
It's easier when there is a liberal feeling in the air to get studies and grants for American culture, unless they are popular "hot" issues. Though, the study I've tried to get as a thesis for completion of a master's is dead because of a certain political climate and the fact my IRB approval ran out and now I have to start all over again.
Note: I am still in the grunt work stage of anthropology. ;D

Since when? IRB approval is not necessary unless you're dealing directly w/ human subjects or animal experimentation. At least at every institution I've worked at.

Yeah, I apologize if I made anything unclear. I just thought it would, personally, interesting to see the voting statistics of Jewish-Americans, being that I am in an area with a relatively small amount of Jewish people.

As an anthropologist, no. As a person who holds those beliefs, yes. I can separate it. It's all a part of their culture; however, it is using power to eradicate scientific thought and work, which pisses me the fuck off. I am allowed to defend all facets of my field, yes?

What has not been thoroughly discussed is how it got to the point of where it did - and why didn't the rest of the world stop them before they were gassing millions. Why did America and Canada turn the jews away who fled Germany?

35. For real fun, introduce an Austrian holocaust denier as GERMAN |
|
My sis' first husband had a holocaust-denier mom (Lydia, She-Wolf of the SS we called her) who was Austrian. At the wedding, I introduced her to a buddy (who spoke fluent German) as a German...
She went apo-f**king-plectic; I thought she was gonna pop! Biggest scene I've ever encountered at a wedding. I was 14, what did I know German/Austrian?
FYI: Don't ever do this unless you have a head start!

He had nightmares for the rest of his life. The only time he ever talked about it with me, he said, "As a German/American I am ashamed that the blood of these monsters runs through my veins". "One of these murderers could even be a relative of mine." That was all he ever said to me about it.

Because the Supreme Court of the day and the southern state used there "rights" to proclaim slaves property, they are trying to claim that the war was not about slavery. Even a second grader would know better.
