Milestone: Iraq and Afghanistan War Casualties Hit 2,007
U.S. Department of Defense - July 30, 2005
According to the official U.S. Department of Defense web site, more than 2,000 U.S. service members have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. A search of the news the past few days shows that not a single news outlet reported this disturbing milestone. In October 2002, Veterans for Common Sense wrote that the Congressional Budget Office "has no basis for estimating the number of casualties from the conflict." Not only was there no plan for the occupation of Iraq, there is no plan for the more than 101,000 Iraq and Afghanistan war casualties reported by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

1. I thought the Afghanistan war was over years ago?
that's what we were told, and if it is on the "TV" it must be true
