Lame Duck Bush Has Swagger, Not Waddle
President Continues To Do As He Pleases

Helen Thomas, Hearst White House columnist

President George W. Bush is not letting his lame duck status stop him from displaying an arrogance of power.

When a Texas newspaper reporter told him, "Power is perception," Bush corrected him, saying, "Power is being president."

In fact, Bush is proving that a lame duck has a lot of power to do what he wants to do since he doesn't have to be re-elected and, therefore, is answerable to no one.

Furthermore, he indicates he could care less whether he goes up or down in public opinion polls. With more than three years left in his presidency, the president's only political constraints may come from members of his own party.

1. I hope Helen Thomas has a body guard.
Those right wingers really hate her. How dare she say mean things about *. There was a caller on cspan recently that wanted Cheney to announce his candidacy for presidency so that Ms. Thomas can kill herself.

6. Helen Thomas I love you sweetie! now I know why Bush had you removed
from the white house press corps, first Bush sent you to the back of the room because you were in his face too much and finally removed because Bushboy couldn't stop stuttering everytime you asked him a question.

Viva Helen Thomas Viva Helen Thomas!!

9. Last I checked, he works for us !!
He is answerable to us under the rule of law !!

The only reason he's not in jail is because his cronies control the congress, and he has some (not all) influence in the judiciary. That doesn't mean we can't mobilize an army to take back congress in 2006. They won OH-02, just barely, by giving it all they've got with money, radio ads, attacks and trickery....and all this in a heavily republican district (the 52-48% margin is suspiciously similar to the Ukrainian and US sElections).

BUT...THEY DON'T CONTROL ALL THE MACHINES and TABULATORS IN ALL THE STATES !! All we need is the house, because they start the investigations and the articles of impeachment.

They've pissed off the press and the CIA. I would like to believe the news consortium will stop covering for their vote fraud and give us an honest exit poll.

WE CAN MAKE HIM ANSWERABLE TO US !! He is our servent, its not the other way around.

Or did he flunk his civics class.

10. Well, since there's basically no oppostion party
Bush and the Republicans get whatever they want- and until the Dems make a spirited and concerted effort to purge the party of DINO's- they'll remain (and deserve to remain) irrelevant.

11. Well, she's right...
He doesn't have to answer for anything, he is all ready voted in. The only way to get to him, is to impeach him for a crime, which is going to be very hard to do. People should start focusing on the morons who are up for re-election, we all ready had our shot at GWB and failed, lets start aiming at the ones who are up for re-election, and have something to lose.
