way of life. I wonder if that is as true as many Americans seem to believe. I think Bush and his Freeper supporters are a threat to our way of life.

if one believes the war in Iraq is not justified -- as I do and we mostly all do -- then the insurgents aren't inherently a threat at all, but merely an inevitable consequence of a failed war; they only exist as a "threat" in the context of that war.

"The freeper", by the same token, is the demographic that supports the administration which we all see as contrary to American values and destructive to American way of life. If that administration is a threat, and it is, then implicitly, so is its enabler: "The freeper".

But these are two completely different planes. I hold no hatred for "the Freeper", and in a sense consider him/her a victim of the Administration along with everyone else. They are our neighbors and our families and our... well, OK, maybe not friends, but you know what I mean. It all depends on what you mean by "threat". The freeper is a threat only in an abstract sense. I also think that America has been hurt by Bush's policies more than by the terrorists -- does that mean I think that we should deal with Bush and his supporters more harshly than with the terrorists? Of course not. The "weapons" of the two respective battles are entirely different. The ways to fight the two battles are entirely different as well. And the "threat" itself is entirely different.
