Bush does another John Kerry plan
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 07:17 PM by FreedomAngel82
I'm listening to the Majority Report and I'm a lil behind on my feed (I pressed pause). Sam is (er was I guess) reading about how the Bush administration took another John Kerry idea and how he was right. Remember when Kerry said we should want to have terror as a nucience and not running our lives? Well guess where Bush got the new phrase "struggle against extremisim" from? You guessed right. John Kerry. AHH! I'm tired of Bush stealing John Kerry's plans! So ONCE AGAIN John Kerry has been proven right and he doesn't get any credit. ARGH! Kerry said "we're not in the war on terror on a literal sense. The war on terror is like saying the war on poverty. It's just a metaphor." Bush was agast: "Anyone who says that does not understand the enemy we face. He has no idea how to win the war. Keep America secur." That was then. This new phrase came at a time a certain group was growing in Afghainstan and Al-Quida bombers are running amock in London. Tourist hotels are being blown up in Egypt. This is not a great time to shift the "phrases".

1. Actually, Bush hates the term 'struggle'. He's still calling it a war.
It's the rest of the administration who decided to call it a 'struggle'.

2. Probably for 2006
Aren't they planning on pulling out of Iraq in the spring of 2006?

4. According to Sam on talkingpointsmemo
The counter terrorism community is abuzz the president's comments yesterday at the principle's meeting. Bush said he was not in favor of the new term. "No one checked with me."~Bush That comment brought an uncomfortable silence. It was still a war according to him. Then why did the press talk about this? I believe he is behind this for 2006. There's chaos in the Bush administration to deal with terrorism and this shows it. Every department is doing it's own thing without any clear direction or control from the White House. They long for Richard Clarke when someone was in charge. The reality is the terrorist do not presesnt a target that can be attacked by the military. The main captures have been carried out through the police round ups or intelligence. There's still no one in charge for this policey. Wayne Downing was put to do so but Donald Rumsfeld slapted him down. The ship is adrift and no one is in charge. Bush is no where to be found (ten vacations a year and a month long trip fishing).

6. At the end of the day
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 07:25 PM by FreedomAngel82
this shows why BinLaden (me: if he's still a live) is still at large. We can't even agree to what to call the fight against radicals. Also the Pentagon is changing and if they are changing the rest of the government is falling suit. The administration failed to fund election groups in Iraq for next month. Karen Hughes hadn't left the job empty the job for five month. The Pentagon wants to fight this war the way it's supposed to and the rest of the Bush administration is running around saying they don't like the new acronym. We're in deepness.

7. It seems Mediamatters agrees.

No major newspapers noted that Bush had bashed Kerry with now-defunct "war on terror" term

I guess this is a great time for them to change the phrases as London has shown that they were wrong concerning Iraq and the terrorists.

10. Freedom, this is nothing new........
It is their MO to sneer at people who are right. They have convinced the American people that the UN, France and Germany were all wrong. There is still an abundance of hate for each of these groups, to this very day, even though all of them were in the right and we were wrong. Don't get me started about these guys!
