Sibel Edmonds: Reveals content of the FBI intercepts Re: 9-11
In an exclusive interview Sibel Edmonds was asked if she would deny that laundered drug money linked to the 911 attacks found its way into recent House, Senate and Presidential campaign war-chests, according to what she heard in intelligence intercepts she was asked to translate.

"once this issue gets to be investigated, you will be seeing certain people that we know from this country standing trial; and they will be prosecuted criminally," revealing the content of the FBI intercepts she heard indicates that recognizable, very high-profile American citizens are linked to the 911 attacks.

When asked how many Americans were named in the intercepts, Edmonds said "There is direct evidence involving no more than ten American names that I recognized," further revealing that "some are heads of government agencies or politicians--but I don’t want to go any further than that,"

Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 09:28 AM by KoKo01
and some DU'ers say he "makes things up." Someone posted that the "New Yorker" is going to have an interview with her in their new issue though. ON EDIT: It's "Vanity Fair" not "New Yorker." I plan to look for it this weekend.
Edited Again:
Lots of info in DU WB Forum which doesn't depend on Flocco, though.

12. He keeps quesitonable company.
From his wikipedia entry, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Flocco :

Tom Flocco is an independent investigative journalist who has written for Scoop.co.nz, AmericanFreePress.net, WorldNetDaily.com, FromTheWilderness.com, NewsMax.com, NarcoNews.com, and JudicialWatch.org

Smells like a disinfo agent to me.

Although why he reported outright that Fitzgerald had indicted Bush & Cheney, an utterly self-debunking story, is very interesting in and of itself. If he's "poisoning the well" with disinformation, why use something so blatantly ridiculous?

18. That's what I thought.
why would he say something like that and destroy any credibility he had
unless the motive was so overwhelming.

It is interesting that Edmonds points out Chicago is where much of the "bribery" was going on. Fitz/Chicago. And, he's gone after Daley's machine there. Flocco does an article on Edmonds linked here, calling attention to her. But, then puts out his bizarre article. Maybe he's just fantasizing that there's a tie or he's doing disinfo.

....JH: Let me read you a short quote from Dr. Griffin's book, quoting from War and Globalization: The Truth Behind September 11 by Michel Chossudovsky and ask you to comment on it. "...The transfer of money to Atta <$325,000>, in conjunction with the presence of the ISI chief in Washington during the week, the missing link behind 9/11....The evidence confirms that al-Qaeda is supported by Pakistan's ISI (and it is amply documented that) the ISI owes its existence to the CIA."

SE: I cannot comment on that. But I can tell that once, and if, and when this issue gets to be, under real terms, investigated, you will be seeing certain people that we know from this country standing trial; and they will be prosecuted criminally.

on edit: The rest of this post has been reformatted and posted in the WB forum.

28. We should be talking about this more
In July, 2002, Ms. Edmonds filed suit against the FBI, alleging wrongful termination in retaliation for reporting criminal activities committed by government officials and employees. Eventually, in 2004, Edmonds was granted a trial, in which she anticipated her wrongful termination complaint would be heard. On May 6, 2005, in the hours before the hearing of her case, three Republican judges issued a ruling that barred all reporters and the public from the courtroom. During the proceedings, Sibel was not allowed into the courtroom for the hearing. Afterwards, when her case was dismissed, no reason was provided, and no opinion cited.

30. Amy Goodman had something on this story this morning
http://www.democracynow.org/

I just caught a bit of it, but it was about Hastert allegedly receiving bribes from Turkish parties, according to messages Edmonds was receiving as a translator. They said that Edmonds has filed a suit for wrongful termination but that the Bush Administration is trying to intervene and keep her lawsuit from going forward, alledging that information threatening our national security would come out. National security seems to be a regular fallback argument for the Bush Administration in court of late, including the Abu Ghraib pics/tapes.

51. High profile americans linked to the 9/11 attacks.
High profile americans linked to the 9/11 attacks...

High profile americans linked to the 9/11 attacks....

Plame is important. DSM is important. In both cases, though, everyone really suspects they know what happened, even though the specifics are not known. The administration twisted intelligence and protected itself by lies and deceipt and smearing. We know that. We also know our troops did things they shouldn't at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo.

But if details of 9/11 come out that surprise 99% of the population (American involvement? Allied involvement?), this is something that moves the tectonic plates of politics and global power, reshaping our opinion of ourselves and our system of government.

Nothing has the potential of pulling the rug out from under our dysfunctional democracy quite like "high profile americans linked to the 9/11 attacks." this is so huge and shocking that it's frightening to think what might happen if true and exposed.

I have a feeling this information is going to come out in one of two ways, either 1) the Supreme Court hears the case and lifts the gag (SCOTUS the center of attention again), or 2) SCOTUS doesn't hear case or decides against Sibel, in which case Sibel and journalists find a way to get the information out there anyway.

59. This Edmunds story should be kicked around to gain more traction!
During my work there I came across some very significant issues that I started reporting in December of 2001 to the mid-level management within the FBI.

They said to basically leave it alone, because if they were to get into those issues it would end up being a can of worms. And after I didn't see any response from this mid-level bureaucratic management I took it to higher levels all the way up to Dale Watson and Director Mueller.

And, again, I was asked not to take this any further and just let it be. And if I didn't do that they would retaliate against me.
