Anti Iraq War Music Video - new download links |
|
OK, last night I posted the link to the anti-war video I created, but as people here had problems with the wmv version I converted the video to mpg and rm files. Here are the links: mpg video, 38,2 MB: http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2W6KYNAWXR3QV3HWHFJU62UVF8rm video (Real Player), only 3,79 MB but very low quality: http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3UMPPMCO3M5ZC38G742RXXZZT3And here are the Window Media video links again: wmv video, 17,9 MB: http://s48.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=13HUAO00MIC1F22IQDB0ORJ5K5http://s52.yousendit.com/d.php?id=QJP8VJAZ91WS6E6W7236HACKFeel free to share with friends and/or put it on your site or blog!

I think it would be better to remove John Kerry from the video though. I think people who would otherwise be moved, might turn it off the moment they see John Kerry.

John Kerry was in Vietnam and protested the war when he came back, or do I get something wrong? Why should people dislike him? He was your - the Democrats - candidate for the Presidency in 2004. I personally like him anyway, and for me he is the perfect example for someone who fought against un unjust war.

The point is not whether or not Kerry is a good person. With John Kerry in the video, people might see it as a pro-kerry video, rather than an anti-war video.
There are probably many people who would be moved by the video, but are predisposed to dislike Kerry, e.g. people who are American republicans. As soon as they see Kerry, they might think, oh this is not about kids being killed, this is just Democrats trying to use the deaths of the kids to promote their guy.

5. It goes with the whole thing! |
|
You'd miss up the whole video if you remove that! In one part of the song the woman is singing how you shouldn't forget the past ie: Vietnam and how it's happening again. That's the whole point. If you don't like the video don't show it to people. Don't censore the creator!

6. You have a point here but... |

...for me Kerry just IS a very important part of the Vietnam war/anti-Vietnam war movement. I don't want to leave him out only because people could think I have a Democratic agenda (I'm not even American LOL). And I really doubt that Republicans would be moved by the dead soldiers or children. These pictures and videos are online since years! And they still re-elected Bush. *sigh*
Oh, and BTW, Kerry is in the movie for 3-4 seconds; the whole song is 3.51 minutes long.

7. Don't worry, I won't remove him! |

I had this song in my head for a long time (it's from 1995) and filled it with pictures since the whole Iraq disaster unfolded in front of our eyes. I just had to do it the way I assembled it; it was stronger than me. :-)
