I s Rush REALLY in recovery?
doubtful-all I know is this;my freind has yet to have any amends made to him (as per the steps) from Limbaugh. When your actions cause a state's attorney to show up at someone's,door and put his life(oh say your MARRIAGE)and/or livelyhood in jeapordy by the direct result of your actions, well own up Rush do that step. This alone tells me either one of two things;that
A;he's still using or
B;he hasn't gotten to that step yet.
I'll go with A

1. or he simply believes himself to be above...
...working the steps. That's my guess-- a classic dry drunk.

7. actually yes
but his greed and lust for power are perhaps an impediment. You know right before he came(ahem)clean he was really off his rocker, saying the most horrible things about the Clintons(esp.Hillary at that time) and call Gephardt "little Dick" that's when I outed his junkie right here on DU.Now he's starting to sound almost as bad-from what I READ because I don't listen.

11. The more the lies come out, the more hysterical he gets.
Maybe he came *cough* clean *cough* long enough to realize what a lying sack of America-damaging shit he was and couldn't take it anymore without medicinal aids. Ya think?

3. I understand that one of the 12 steps
Is to make an amends to people that you've wronged, and I haven't heard from the pill-popping son of a bitch. Maybe he's still at work on his searching and fearless moral inventory; I suspect that could take one helluva long time for Rushbo.

4. Another piece of support for "No!"
is the fact that it's rare for anyone, with any sort of addiction, to be able to kick it on the first try. Not unheard of, perhaps, but rare.

14. Interesting
Your post makes sense now--thanks to Rush your friend had a state's attorney show up at his door. Maybe your friend should ask him, "Were you planning on following through with your program and apologizing to me?" I'd like to be a fly on that wall.

16. no
it don't work that way HE has to be the one to intiate the amends. You can't walk up to someone and say "well???"

6. I doubt it...

... as a recovering alcholholic with almost 18 years sobriety, I can attest that it took me months after I first quit to feel anywhere near to normal. And when I say "normal" I simply mean day-to-day functional.

I find it very unlikely that anyone with any severe addiction (like Rush) could be just fine after a few weeks in a recovery program.

12. Perhaps he needs to hit a lower bottom.
It takes what it takes.Has he gone on record as being a recovering person?Maybe he just went through treatment and thought that was enough.Ain't it grand the wind stopped blowin' ma?

Nothing about him has changed. Probably abusing something else now.

... and there are many different types of "down" drugs available both legally and illegally to keep Rush "unsick". Heroin comes to mind (I'm serious).

17. My goodness, you're right!
Remember all those expensive ad programs that show our brains frying on drugs. It is always said that one leads to another until you hit the heaviest and deepest hole. Rushie may have gone for the real thing and skipped the hillbilly sh*t.

I don't know, but he really acts like a B*sh. No harm done, nothing to see here, what about Hillary? The b*sh MO is avoid jail, pretend that nothing was ever wrong and move on to bigger and better? crimes.

Why is Rush not in jail? Why is Kenny Boy not in jail?
Why is Martha Stewart thumbing her nose at the authorities?
Martha gets 3 more months with her ankle bracelet and Rush gets a raise and spews more hatred.
