We hate Bush way more than they hated Clinton |
|
What was their reason for hating Clinton so much?
Because he was liberal? Because he supposedly slept around? Because he took the election from Poppy?
They were relentless in their pursuit to destroy him for reasons that appear frivolous compared to lying about WMD's, the DSM, 2000 dead for nothing, Social Security, Supreme Court, Bolton, fundamentalist fanaticism in the WH.
Never thought I would lay awake nights thinking about how fucked up the world is and how in hell we can fire a guy whose job performance is so bad corporate America would have canned him already with a Do Not Rehire on his record.
I'm tired of taking sleeping medication to stop his face from floating in front of my weary eyes at night.

It's not that I hate Bush.... I hate his policies and then his petty attitude towards everyone except the Neo con elites. So you are right I think most of us here at DU hate his policies more than we do the man himself.

I think they are a bit more important and devestating than the clenis

Their hatred of Clinton is grounded in insanity, as is their unconditional love of GWB. Our dislike of GWB goes directly to policy, and how he is destroying our great nation (and others). We really would not care (barring the hypocrisy) if he was having consensual sex (of any kind) with another person.

They hated Clinton just as much, if not more. Have you forgotten the 1990s so quickly?
In any case, you're problem with the sleeping meds is that you're not using potent enough medication. Have you considered quaaludes? Barbs? A double-dose of valium, perhaps? Better living through modern chemicals, you know.

And then you'll REALLY sleep good. Of course, there's also the possibility you won't wake up, but hey, buy the ticket, take the ride.
As far as Irish whiskey goes, Bushmill's is good, but unless it's the 21-year-old Bushmill's, I'll take Tullamore Dew over it every time!

11. yes, but we're less vicious about it. |
|
when republicans hate, they hate to the very core of their being, and start stealing from the core of the being of those around them, and then scrounge walmarts and nascar events to collect more hatred, and then sell their souls to the devil in order to increase their hatred capacity until it rises like gorge from their throats and spews out in a river of bile large enough to create a hate-tsunami that engulfs civilization in a plume of vitriol before it drowns in massive tidal wave of hubris.
When we hate, its because the guys deserves it....and we protest or write letters or whatever. All good things, but its like if I stepped into the ring with a heavyweight champion and I am overweight, out of shape and never boxed a day in my life.
They are much, much better at hatred, its their reason for living. Take their hatred away and they have nothing. FOR THAT REASON, negotiating with them or compromising with them is a fool's errand. They hate us enought to suggest liberals should be put in concentration camps. They hate us enough to make up horrible untrue things about us and send them out as mimeographed talking points.
We cannot counter the professional level of vitriol, if we fight them using their own weapons.

They are thinking, "Ooh, now you know what it feels like" except they are wrong. Dead wrong.
Like 100,000+ Iraqis dead. And 1800+ of our troops. All that death for oil. And they LET the WTC be vaporized. And Osama is still out there.
And they don't want US to have any say. But when Clinton was in office, no one muzzled those sleezy Republican hatemongers.

21. "They" hated Clinton the man ... |
|
...it was and is a rabid personal hatred.
I DESPISE what Chimpy and the evil cabal have done to my country (and my world). Though I am not at all charmed by * , I am indifferent to him when his policies and actions do not effect my country, my loved ones, my "fellow" human beings, the environmental integrity of my planet.
(I use the "my" not to indicate possession of but to indicate responsibility for ... as in my planet ...)

Most of us will just forget Bush when he's gone from power (as he deserves to be). In any case we won't spend the following ten years blaming him for everything, even though that would be a lot more realistic of us than it is for the right-wingers to blame Clinton for everything.

29. They hated Clinton for what he is... |
|
and we hate Bush for what he does.
Back during Nixon's time, we despised him partly because of Viet Nam and his conservative cabal, but we really hated him because we thought he defamed the office just by being there. It was largely personal, and we wanted him out, even though he gave us a voting rights act and the EPA. Nothing he could do, not even his universal health care plan, could redeem him. He just did not belong there.
The right feels the same way bout Clinton, although I fail to understand just why. They absolutely believe that he had no right to be in the White House and long before Monica, they felt he defiled it.
In both cases it was personal, in addition to the philosophicla divide. And the personal hatred existed long before they were lected.
With Shrub, it's becoming personal but it's still mainly the absolute incompetence in running the country.

31. So, do you think it's a character flaw to take him so personal? |
|
I guess on the surface, I am not politically savvy enough to despise his policies, although I do understand what he is doing for the most part. Maybe, subconciously, I totlly understand what he's doing and I'm making it personal.

35. It's always a character flaw to make it personal... |
|
at least that's the way I see it.
And, yes I admit I am guilty of that flaw, too. I see Shrub as a miserable excuse for a human being who has no business running anything, much less the country.
But, my personal feelings shouldn't influence me or anyone else. It is his policies that are the problem. He is a force for destruction here and pretty much everywhere else. Nothing he has done so far has had any positive effect except to help a few people get short-term financial gains.
I believe that each of us should each day leave this place a little better than when the day started, and the President has the power and the responsibility to leave the place a lot better.
He has not done so.
