Need info HELP! Re: The Sierra Times and it's parent company

J.J. Johnson Enterprises, Inc. is the owner of The Sierra Times. http://www.sierratimes.com/

I have a friend who keeps sending me articles from this online "news" site, and in my opinion, it's an extremist rag and comparable to the John Birch Society. I even have my suspicions this group contributes to the NRA, but am having difficulty finding that kind of link.

Meanwhile, am also having difficulty finding the background info on J. J. Johnson, as well as the start up history of The Sierra Times.

If anyone can help, your input/ideas/info would be greatly appreciated. My friend who sends me articles means well, and is a staunch Dem, but sometimes gets her sources mixed-up as to who is to be believed when it comes to politics and issues.

PS DO tell me if I am wrong regarding The Sierra Times, and please tell me why. The latest article my friend sent was about our public education system, and as a recently retired aducator who was very active in the system, and even more so in SpEd and the law, I found the article to be full of all sorts of purposely contrived misinformation.

J.J. Johnson at Sierra Times - Hangin' up the Spurs - Mr. Johnson has taken another job, so Sierra Times is going to be drastically cut back. I wish him well in his new position and will miss his online rag. This piece had no permanent address, so I copied the whole thing below.

4. Who indeed?

I did find that article re: J J Johnson/Spurs, but found it not very helpful in revealing the slant of The Sierra Times. Seems to me the articles, while sometimes listing sources, is pretty much a far left rant rag.
