I don't have a video link but watched this AM and I was very impressed with his perspective and his passion in expressing it.
Barnicle actually seemed MAD. He started criticizing the media - mentioning the girl missing in Aruba and everybody knows her name and nobody recognizes the name of one of the soldiers who died the day before, because they don't cover it. Wants coverage like they did for WTC people in NY papers, covering these people and who they were. Then he talked about Bush not going to any of the soldier funerals and couldn't he go to Ohio because it was the whole state, whole area and he could do that, and by the way, between Barnicle and Imus, he could and should go to ALL of the soldier funerals.
He went on to criticize the Congressional vote and approval by Bush of the transportation bill - billions of dollars that are funding projects all over this country. Reminded everyone WE ARE AT WAR. Compared the money for that talking about the old amphibian unit in which the 14 solders were killed and did not have safe, armored equipment.
His passion on this rant surprised me. I especially liked the fact that Don Imus started out apologizing to his listeners that he did not have the EXACT number of deceased soldiers and was having his staff get that number for him because it should not be mentioned without using the exact figure because it was disrespectful to those who died. He got the accurate figure as of this AM, and used it.
Didn't see anything but the questions when I posted this and just wanted to provide the info in case no one else can get a video link or better detail available. It was a great rant and wish it could be heard by everyone!

did you catch Richard Engel, and his report, earlier in the show. Painted a bleak picture of the situation in Iraq, in other words, he gave the facts.

I turned the show on just when he was finishing up and talking about the Airport road still not being safe. He is usually pretty accurate instead of passing along the magical mystery versions.

5. I enjoyed him chastising the media, print and MSM. |
|
He mentioned a famous pic from VN that was on the cover of every major newspaper and wondered why this wasn't happening now. Also challenged the MSM to start doing their jobs, mentioning Tweety by name. I hope that video is available because it was priceless and these facts are stated all too infrequently nowadays. Nice to see someone angry enough to open their eyes and inform honestly.
