I just won an autographed copy of "My Life" from the BC Library
Well, to be completely honest, my nine year-old daughter just won it, but I figure it's pretty close to the same thing. We went to the Clinton Library over the summer, all the way from Vegas, and in the giftshop downtown my kid spotted one of those bins where you fill out a piece of paper w/ your contact info and hope you win a prize. I can't believe I said "Oh, honey, that's just a waste of time, nobody ever wins those things."

She said, "Daddy, somebody has to win don't they? It may as well be me."

Shows you what I know, huh? And even if she's too young to read it now and never gets around to reading it, at least she'll have something to pass on to her grandkids.

Exceleent museum, by the way, and in ways uplifting -- several of the high points of my academic and professional life can be attributed to things displayed -- and at times depressing, because Bush and the majority of Americans have pissed it all away.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

4. The only two things I recall hearing that he
read are Wolfe's I Am Charlotte Simmons and My Pet Goat, and I don't think he finished either one. Readins hard work, ya know.
