9. It's important
to Americans, and in your lifetime, but as world events go...it's a minor matter.

It won't start WW4 either.

10. well, if that was a minor matter, then Clinton's sexcapade was a
nano-matter.

The point still stands, I think.

11. Clinton's sexcapade
was a scratch-the-head matter outside the US, and non-existant on the scale of important world events.

Much like 911 is a minor matter.

Now tomorrow's 60th anniversary might be considered as registering on the world scale by some....

12. I agree that calling it
the "most significant geoplotical event in history" is somewhat self centered.

But it has had implications that will affect the course of world history for many years to come. Calling it a minor matter understates it importance. I would certainly place it as being one of the most significant events in the last decade.

OTOH, Clinton's bj was a non event. 9/11 was not on the same scale.

15. I'm afraid Iraqis, and Afghans would disagree
considering the administration used 9/11 as a pretext to invade those countries.

At the minimum the events and the aftermath have led to the death of some 50k people.

I'd atleast say that's more significant than a BJ in the oval office.

16. No they wouldn't
Iraq was bombed illegally for 12 years before Bush came along, and they've been invaded before many times over the centuries. By the British and many others...their king is long gone, and Saddam was a western imposition. Bush didn't do that.

Afghanistan has fought off both the British and the Russians among others. Everyone since Alexander the Great. And if everybody left, it would be the war lords against the Taliban again.

Americans aren't news, or even different.

The bj had no signifigance whatever...nor did anyone claim it did.

What Republicans spend on a political campaign is an internal matter.
