Is it just me, or are corporate memes the most stupid and inane things
ever perpetrated on mankind?

I thought the main reason to be in business was to make money. How simple is that?

Please share the latest stupidity from you company here.

7. "a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation," (wikipedia)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme

In casual use, the term meme often refers to any piece of information passed from one mind to another. This usage more closely resembles the analogy of "language as a virus"....

"Ideas have a life of their own"

The old saying "Ideas have a life of their own" clearly encapsulates the "meme about memes".

2. Advertising is stupid.
However, it is a multi-million dollar business because it works on us. What does that say about us?

4. My pet peeve is mission statements
Every company (and now every organization) has to have a vacuous mission statement. Every organization I've been involved in has wasted weeks quibbling about the creation or revision of a mission statement instead of actually doing something.

The Dilbert website has a mission statement generator:

http://www.dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/games/career/bin/ms.cgi

Look at the results and try to tell me you can tell the difference between them and real mission statements.

You can't.
