They all have reporters already in Crawford with very little to do. Ask them politely to cover this story.

Please keep story kicked. Since all of us who would like to go, but can't this is one thing we can do from our own home town to hold this criminal regime accountable.

23. thanks for helping! If you can join her here's the specifics ....
Cindy Sheehan, Co-Founder of Gold Star Families for Peace, and mother of a soldier killed in action in Iraq, plans to confront President Bush with questions at his Crawford ranch on Saturday morning, August 6, 11 a.m. CT. Accompanying Sheehan will be members of Veteran's for Peace (VFP), Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), CODE PINK, and Crawford Peace House, all members or allies of the AfterDowningStreet.org Coalition.

On Wednesday, Bush said (speaking about the dreadful loss of life in Iraq in August): "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission." and "The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."

In response, Sheehan wrote:
"We want our loved ones' sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are? We would like for him to explain this 'noble cause' to us, and plan to ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble. If he is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal."

Sheehan said today that she plans to stay "until we are arrested or satisfied with the answers."

Sheehan will be carrying with her a collection of signatures on a petition asking that the troops be brought home, including 25,000 signatures collected at OutOfIraq.org.

Below are statements from participants in tomorrow's events, as released today by the Institute for Public Accuracy:

DIANE WILSON, WilsonAlamobay@aol.com, Co-founder of the women's peace group CodePink, Wilson is a Texan now on her way to Crawford. She said today: "I totally sympathize with Cindy. The Army tried to recruit my autistic son. They tried to get my daughter to join too, they led her to believe she would be joining the Coast Guard when it was actually the Army. My daughter was needing money, we make our living fishing and have trouble making ends meet, so the military can be tempting. If George Bush really thinks this is such an honorable battle, let me send his twins over there." Wilson wrote the just-released book "An Unreasonable Woman: A True Story of Shrimpers, Politicos, Polluters, and the Fight for Seadrift, Texas."

HADI JAWAD, shadijawad@aol.com, Jawad is spokesperson for the Crawford Peace House and will be accompanying Sheehan from Dallas to Crawford on Saturday.

37. I can't go, but I'm going to spread the word locally today!
I have a local festival here today. So I will wear my Bush lied t'shirt and pass out information on the DSM. I will give them information about Cindy's quest today too.

Take notice Rep. Schwartz---I am taking a stand since YOU will not. AND your voters who come by the thousands to this festival will know that you are a "fake moderate". AND I will be telling them that I've called your office repeatedly and discovered that YOU refuse to stand up with couragae and conviction against the crimes of this White House and your party. YOUR constituents will KNOW what you said and what you do are not the same. AND we will VOTE you out of office! Rep. Schwart, we're not going to let you play games with peoples' lives.

INVESTIGATE the DSM and the TREASONOUS LEAKING NOW, Representative Schwartz.

By Buddy Spell

August 5, 2005

I just received an update from Cindy Sheehan in Dallas where she is attending the Veterans for Peace Convention before shoving off for Crawford in the morning. We were both a bit blown away by a link I sent her to a thread running at Democratic Underground where the forum members were speculating on what it would be like if a million people showed up with her at the ranch.
(http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph... ). Her response was classic Cindy: “What did I start?”

Well, we’ll see. Cloistered in the convention events there in Dallas, Cindy seems fairly unaware of the activity out on the web relative to her carpool adventure to Crawford. I asked her how many she expected to have with her tomorrow. “I don’t know...I have heard that there are people coming in from as far away as Canton, Ohio...it’s so hard to say.”

She clearly expects to be in Crawford for the rest of August. I asked her if she would be recruiting activists to join her in Texas and she said, “I would appreciate the company if I am camping there.”

I asked her what we could do for her right now:

“Put pressure on the media to report that George won't meet with me.
Send around the petition to demand a full withdrawal of the troops.
Counter-recruitment.
Keep up the good work!!!”

I’ll be talking with her in the morning and will update you as warranted. If things go well, I’ll be reporting from Crawford by Thursday morning. Maybe I’ll see you there.

Peace out.

Here's the link to the Veterans For Peace conference where Cindy Sheehan will be starting her trip to Crawford. I'll bet that you can find out something from them about how to hook up with the road trip.

30. Here's how you can blast the TX media:
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 03:46 AM by snot
go here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/cu/cu.php?az=blaster

and select TX and 2 other states you like.

Here's something you could send them:

Gentlemen and Ladies:

Goldstar Families for Peace, members of Veterans for Peace, Military Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Code Pink, and Crawford Peace House are going to Crawford, TX to challenge President Bush on the Iraq war. This event is scheduled to begin this Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 am. You can see more info here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=259x571 .

I hope you will cover this event. Thankyou for your efforts.

41. Thanks for kicking and voting this thread.
I'm going to be leaving to be the media at this festival. Will there be people here to keep kicking this while I'm gone? This is the BIG day! We need to be the media!

42. a letter I saw on a different site
Bush rests easy in Crawford while Casey Sheehan rests in Peace

What's wrong with that picture?

Well, Cindy Sheehan's son Casey was sent to his death by the premeditated murder of her son and others like him by President George Bush.

It's the war on terror? Or is it the global struggle against terrorism?

Nope...it's neither. According to the minutes of Tony Blair's chief of staffs, it's neither! It's the premeditated war that Bush started BEFORE going to Congress and asking for permission as required by our constitution.

According to the Downing Street Minutes, George Bush decided he wanted a war in Iraq so he made up the facts to suit his purpose.

Hense...PREMEDITATED MURDER.

Today, Cindy Sheehan and thousands of people will be arriving in Crawford Texas to ask Bush for the truth but did this Corporate and Republican owned media show it to you?

If not, then welcome to the Soviet Union! It just ain't America anymore--illegal wars, no real press, and people dyin' for nothing.

47. HIGHWAY blog for Cindy too!
HIGHWAY BLOGGING.... (none / 0)

So here is a brain-fart (perhaps too much caffiene).

DO SIGNS ON CARDBOARD:

WE ARE AT WAR
SOLDIERS ARE DYING
PRESIDENT ON VACATION
afterdowningstreetmemo.org
impeachbush.org

During the time that Cindy and crew are in Crawford representing all of us, how about those of us that can't be there for whatever reason, do HIGHWAY BLOGGING!!!!!

Make these signs, find your favorite freeway overpass and tape that sucker up!!! Sure they'll be taken down, but if they are up there for an hour (and just keep goin' back!!!) during rush hour...hell think of how many THOUSANDS will read this and get WEBSITE INFORMATION!!!!!

I think I'm getting too old for this and I currently have a blown out knee, but I JUST realized that I have a LOVELY OVERPASS about 3/4 of a mile from me which goes over INTERSTATE 5....two miles from the Camp Pendleton entrance!!!
