WTF-Insurgents bury and ASPHALT over 500 lb bombs |
|
I was sitting reading this tonight. I've been trying to figure out how in the hell the insurgents can bury a 500 lb bomb - that takes a lot of digging, but to also asphalt over it as well! WTF, do they have road construction crews? I think this really shows we have no damn control at all in Iraq!<snip> " used a 500-pound Russian bomb. That would have flipped over an M1 tank," said retired Army Brigadier Gen. David Grange, a former commander of the First Infantry Division.
"They're burying them and asphalting over them so you can't see them," said Bill Lind, a strategist whose theories on maneuver warfare largely were adopted by the Marine Corps in the 1980s.
Lind is a friend of Lt. Col. L.B. Urquhart, the commander of the Ohio reserve battalion, and he briefed the unit's officers before they went to Iraq.
"There is actually a partial solution, even with a big bomb," Lind said. "You saw it in Vietnam."
Soldiers in Vietnam typically rode on the tops of M-113 personnel carriers when they feared hitting land mines. A mine explosion is much more deadly for soldiers riding inside a vehicle than for those sitting on top of it.

1. Not only asphalting over it, |
|
but they would have to dig up the asphalt that is there first and remove any indications that the road has been tampered with. Shouldn't you be able to tell when a spot in the road had new asphalt laid over it?

2. That's enough to make a person say |
|
WHAT????? Give me some credit for having SOME intelligence. Asphalting them over is such an obvious lie that I don't know what to say.

I swear, if I got a wish from a Genie, hothead Republicans would wake up tomorrow in a forced march down Baghdad Highway wearing snowshoes and earplugs.

They have large ones from previous explosions. Craters in fact.
Not hard to fill in long enough to blow something else up

The day the marines leave the place is the day Saddam's people take the place over again.

7. Do big road modifications and plant bombs and nobody squeals. |
|
It's like nobody sees nothing, it's like the marines are invaders from another planet.

9. We would do the same thing if Iraqis were occupying the U.S. |
|
We have let Karl Rove define the question again. We occupied their country, this is not an insurgency! Even if someone came in and removed "*" and his criminal enterprise from America; WE would be blowing them up in a couple of months if they did not leave.
No one wants their country occupied. NOBODY !!!
