Didn't see this posted here; A challenge to Anne Coulter...
Larry Johnson apparently took issue with Coulter arguing that 'Iraq is a safer place'.

I love his suggestion;

A challenge to Ann Coulter

Larry Johnson:

After watching the stupidity and arrogance of Ann Coulter on the O'Reilly Factor (thanks to Crooks and Liars), it seems to me we ought to challenge Ann to put her body where her mouth is. I'll pay for her to travel business class to Baghdad and stay there for a week, but on these conditions:
When she arrives at the airport she must take a public taxi.
She cannot hire a bodyguard or security detail.
And, most important of all, she must stay at a hotel outside of the Green Zone and eat at a different restaurant everynight using public transportaton (i.e., a taxi).
If she's right, that things are going well and are safer today than one year ago, I say go show us. Maybe FOX News will assign one of their intrepid cheerleaders, oops, I mean correspondents, to accompany Ann and show the world that a new day has dawned in Iraq.
What do you folks think?

I'm for it.

5. In a similar vein, anyone know what happened. . .
to the caravan of RW radio enemas who went to Iraq the other week "to show how safe it is and what progress has been made." I heard they all met up in Florida, but haven't heard a word since.

19. Thanks for the link, robertarctor. That was hilarious. . .
every photo was taken well-behind American lines and when someone did venture out with a patrol, their accounts were devoid of action and vacilated between believing the Iraqis are inexperienced and timid to assertions they are "almost ready" to take over their own patrols.

Quite enlightening. . . in ways I'm sure they never expected.

20. Geniuses at work.
I noticed all the pics had the alt as "photo".

I was trying to find out who the fat kid at the microphone is. Too well-fed to be Iraqi.

6. An addition to the list of stipulations...
she has to wear a t-shirt with her "Invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them all to Christianity" comment emblazoned on the front and back in Arabic (?) everywere she goes. That would be one beheading video I'd probably watch.

9. I was doing errands in the car today, and was listening to Air Am
off and on. Randi Rhodes made some quick comment on Ann that all she wants to do is bone Republican bigwhigs. Then she called her a whore in that east coast accent of hers. All i could do was laugh and shake my head.

12. I heard that too...
...it was pretty funny. Randi was the girl from Queens all of a sudden.
"She's a who-er." It was like she was saying, "ya know, I'm a who-er too and it takes one to know one. But I don't f__k pigs like she does."
Really funny...

Great, so in dissing Anne Coulter, Rhodes shows that her metamorphosis into the left-wing equivalent continues.

I know a way to beat these wingnut demagogues! Act like them!

31. And your plan?
Be all sweet and accommodating and Repukes will learn from our example?

Give it up! It's long past time Repukes got back what they've been giving. Coulter is a traitor, a violent bigot and she's ugly - INSIDE where it matters.

You can write her a nice little note and beg her to stop talking about "killing liberals." This liberal would unashamedly love to kick her ass if she came anywhere close to me.

34. Please Remove Those Words From My Mouth
No Buddy, but...

Well, Bob Somersby of the Daily Howler put it best:

"When standard intellectual procedures are undermined, those who have “political muscle” can step in and rule the roost. So it will go if libs become freepers—if we too make up quotes; invent pleasing “facts;” indulge in weird logic; and demonize wildly. When any damn fool can say any damn thing, the damn fools with power will win every time. Over the course of the past several centuries, the traditions known as “fact” and “logic” have served as brakes on desires of the powerful. The king could no longer simply say it. He now had to show it was true.

In our view, standard intellectual rigor will typically serve progressive interests. Libs would be foolish to adopt the gong-show behaviors which have defined the talk-show right all these years. Given the hapless conduct of liberal elites in the dozen years, it’s easy to see why progressives and libs might find themselves drawn to these gong-show behaviors. But this would be a path straight to hell. In our view, accurate facts clearly explained will normally favor progressive interests. We’ve been sad to see some on the liberal web starting to ape the gong-show pseudo-right—and praying for prosecution of the bad men we’re too inept to defeat on our own. (And too lazy; and too undisciplined; and too riddled with conflict of interest.)

This morning, Krugman describes an instructive process. Those who have “political muscle” will typically welcome intellectual chaos. If they can simply spread doubt and confusion—if they can undermine normal intellectual methods—then their muscle will start to take hold. So it will be in the wider discourse if we—like those whom we have long ridiculed—start to take our daily pleasure in the methods of gong-show discussion.
"

We can play hardball with these bastards without resorting to their vindictiveness and vulgarity. E.g., when you compare the Gestapo-like interrogation techniques brought on with W. Administration's blessing to those of the actual Gestapo, don't f*cking apologize when the Republicans/right-wing bloggers hypocritical scheisse-storm of feigned indignantion of ensues--stick to your damned ground when your right! Another example: when your party chairman points out an obvious f*cking FACT--say, the Republican party is primarily composed of white Christians--don't fall all over yourself to distance yourself from him like he just goosed Queen Elizabeth II, BACK HIM UP! In either of these 'examples' would behaving in the prescribed manner (i.e. acting like you didn't check your spinal column at the door when you joined the Democratic party) entail aping the behavior of the yahoo right? I think not.

Robert

condition ~ that when she is eating out in one of Iraq's fine restaurants in downtown Fallujah, or Baghdad, she runs her mouth the way she does here. I'd like her to tell her Iraqi dinner companions what her opinion of Muslims is ~ AIRC, it went something like this 'we should invade their countries and either kill or convert them'.

I will chip in to send her there and I think this should become a challenge that she is met with everywhere she goes. If I believed what she claims to believe, I would be delighted to take up such a challenge.

There is another way for her to go to Iraq. Isn't she in her forties? There are many soldiers over there older than that. Why is she not there already? Why is she here, mouthing off when her president can't find people to go fight his war and she believes so strongly in it?

Send her her recruitment papers. I'm sick and tired of these mouths who claim to support this war, but won't go fight in it!! She isn't married, she has no children, what's stopping her? And she should take O'Reilly and Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage and the rest of the cheerleaders for war, with her!!

Now that would be funny, if we could raise a bunch of money and present it to her with the challenge.

Make it a big publicity event, have the news crews follow. Present her with the ticket, a bunch of spending money, and the conditions of acceptance for all to watch her chicken out...

Many would pay for that.

Hell, it's a great Idea.
