omg freeples - let the wmd's go!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1458272/posts

"....If, on the other hand, weapons of mass destruction had been found in Iraq, there's no question those numbers would be dramatically different.

Bush's war rationale would have been completely vindicated - and families of hero GI's wouldn't be wrestling with gut wrenching questions about whether their sacrifices were worth it.

That's why it's so abominably tragic - and downright irresponsible - for the Bush White House to continue to ignore the evidence that Saddam Hussein did, in fact, pose a WMD threat..."

2. and now the follow up posts...
"...The Bush White House needs to stick to the story that WMDs were moved out of the country. Saying they never existed would look like total incompetence. Of course, if they are in Syria or elsewhere, it would beg the question of why we are not pursuing them aggressively. We may be, under cover, but Syria probably deserves a public whipping and ultimatum to turn them over..."

I love it - "stick to the story"...

6. and this...
The ridiculousness goes on...

"...I agree. He (*) is also refusing to go out and talk up the good economic news. Last year, I thought it was the Obi-Wan Kanobi strategy.

I don't know why the POTUS has also refused to present evidence of the clear link between Al-Qaeda and Iraq.

I am baffled..."

Don't hurt yourself little freepleman.

15. Hilarioius. They just admitted that Bush is a lying fuck
But THAT doesn't bother them. All they care about is winning, who cares about truth, honesty, and the good of mankind. They just want all their hatred, biases, and ignorance validated.

Too bad, FRetards, the country has finally regained its senses and we're going to bury your nazi asses.

5. You've got to admire their patience, even if it's born of ignorance
LOL

I had a run in before my DU days with a freeperish sort on Usenet who assured me that the WMD would be found within 6 months, no doubt about it!

I wish I could remember his name so I could look him up and ram it down his throat. I think it was in the SNL newsgroup (of all places!)

13. I believed Collin Powell when he said Iraq had WMDs
I didn't believe Bush or the others, but when Collin Powell stood in front of the cameras with his photos and "evidence," I believed him.

Damn, I feel like a sucker.

9. oh my lord...theyr'e turning on each other - * is polarizing his own party
one freeple said this"...While GWB postures as a conservative, look who he is constantly trying to please...."

then the next little freeple said this..."I have long felt that GWB is never going to be politically loved. His Base is alienated...constantly having any enthusiasm for him snuffed out by his own actions and words...belying the campaign rhetoric written by more sincere conservatives for him.And the Left will always vote RAT. GWB is constantly betraying our principles and positions to curry favor with the MSM. He is clearly reading the Washington Post, instead of Human Events. And not least, but GWB is running a disengenuous shell game over sovereignty, going in almost lock-step with Xlinton's path, accepting continuance in the unconstitutional Fast Track Authority, GATT, WTO, CAFTA, FTAA and the LOST (Law of the Sea Treaty) marxist-bloc ideas...and now the justifying pretext is...of all things... security!"

8. push poll questions
If you knew the WH was absolutely accurate in EVERYTHING and Saddam was The Worst Person in the World who tore wings off flies, would you still want anchovies on your pizza? (that is my question)

"Here's a few questions media pollsters never ask - featuring undisputed facts the White House needs to begin spotlighting:

• If you knew that Saddam Hussein was sitting on a stockpile of 500 tons of yellowcake uranium - and storing it at his nuclear weapons development plant - would you still think the Iraqi dictator posed no WMD threat?

• If you learned that Saddam had ordered his top nuclear physicist to hide centrifuge parts from U.N. weapons inspectors and keep them available for future use - would it have been a good idea to leave Saddam in power?

• And if you knew that Saddam had begun to enrich that uranium to the point where weapons inspectors feared it could be turned into a terrorist dirty bomb - would you still think it was a mistake to launch a preemptive invasion? "

Undisputed facts indeed.

10. last one...
"On the contrary. I fear that if the Bushies don't start defending themselves on the WMD question, it could lead to dire consequences.

If support for the war continues to erode from now till 2006, that will enhance Democrat chances to retake the House.

That may be unimiagniable right now, but another 500 to 1,000 GI deaths in a war the American people increasingly believe was based on a lie, and I wouldn't bet the farm on continued GOP dominance in Congress.

If the Dems win the House, they won't waste a nanosecond before filing impeachment charges.

At that point, the entire war on terror will be discredited, much like what happened to Vietnam in 1974.

Only this time, when the enemy returns, it won't be to Saigon - but instead, New York, Washington and Los Angeles."

creeple freeple

11. Yep, those poll numbers would be quite different
If the Bush administration hadn't lied about the weapons of mass destruction, the yellowcake, the cakewalk, the war paying for itself, the privatization of social security, the trashing of the White House, the ramming of the Japanese fishing boat by the nuclear submarine, the capture of our spy plane by the Chinese, his actions on September 11, the rationale for invading Afghanistan, the rationale for invading Iraq, Powell lying his ass off at the UN, the Bolton appointment, the rape of the environment, the phony ranch in Texas, the abominable handing out of presidential medals to undeserving fuck-ups, the torture at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay and other places, the bombing of innocents, the war crimes, the collective reprisals against civilian populations, the cluelessness, the emptying of the Treasury, the giveaways to criminal corporations, the crony capitalism, and the screwing over of our allies, then yes . . .

Bush's poll numbers would indeed be "dramatically different."

12. Wow, what a leap of logic...
1) If Bush had found WMDs it would have all been worth it.
2) So, why dosn't Bush say he found them?

about the "caravan" that left Iraq prior to the invasion. (heard it from a she-freeple on C-span just the other day.}

Yeah, right. You can go to googleearth to look at your own backyard via satellite, but the Pentagon--who can see what's in your grocery bag from space if they wanna-- just couldn't manage to figure that shit out.
