QVC

Woman on now for the Quacker Factory (VERY APPROPRIATE NAME) selling sweaters with garish flags and stars all over it. She is saying there's an email from a general going around now telling people to wear red on Fridays to show their patriotism, and that whether you support the war or not, the armed forces are defending our country. :eyes:

...Sweaters manufactured overseas mind you. :puke:

I'm only watching now to see how well the sweater sells. A woman from Tennessee ("tennasay") just bought one. Surprahs surprahs.

Is it going to some fat guy's country club membership fee, or for the purchase of some Cuban cigars, then no thanks.

but pissed me off bad enough to call. Turn it off on the rare occassions I watch and her fat ass comes on...she is definitely a bushitler supporter w/o a clue, yellow ribbon on the car hack.

4. One of the hosts must have someone over
in Iraq right now because about a month or so ago a caller on the line said that she was buying something to send over to her son and this lady absolutely lost it right on the air. They had to get her off camera and have someone else take over for awhile. I wonder how these people feel when people like the Quaker lady start opening their big mouths.

5.  i heard one caller whose husband is a 'contractor' over in Iraq

... just crowing about all the $$$ he's making so she can spend it on QVC.

i think i detect some pandering to religiosity in their numerous offerings of different types of crosses and how some hosts always wear a cross ( me being raised catholic and all ). then some of the callers will praise the hosts for being 'good christians', blah blah blah.
i discovered that they do have a couple of peace symbol jewelry offerings, though, but i haven't seen them on air.

i have bought stuff from them before, though and was pleased w/ the customer service.

8. Of course they pander - those are the kind of mindless fucks who
buy too much shit and spend all day on QVC and can be easily convinced that even though its environmental waste and goes against everything in the bible, the more shit with flags and crosses they buy, the better a patriot (meaning Christian) they are.

Though in QVCs defense, I'll say that I've ordered two things from them, and had amazingly pleasant phone service both times, good delivery, and everything as advertised. And of those I know who have used QVC, I've never heard a single complaint.

9.  i've only used a couple of times, too

the last time, the delivery was two days later than they'd notified me and were really quick to send replacement. ( the item eventually showed up, not qvc's fault )

i don't like how they say... ' you'll get so many compliments on this ' . when i buy something, it's not for the compliments, but because i need something, usually household items.

getting compliments from others is the only basis of finding self-worth.

Sad, I know.

Jean, whatshername? QVC should be DUed! We should email them about her BULLSHIT speech. I've heard her spew that shit before. She is OBVIOUSLY a sheeple selling her "made in china" stuff. I've never heard any of the QVC hosts spew that crap though...and I'm a big QVC shopper. I HATE store shopping.

Let's DU them! Who made the remark you are talking about?

Here's what I wrote:

The Quacker Factory show was on and Jean was selling her Americana sweater and decided to lecture we buyers on supporting the illegal war in Iraq. I would appreciate it if Jean would keep her Republican opinions to herself. I have shopped with QVC since you were CVN and if the political/republican commentary doesn't end with your venders, I will never buy from you again. As you can see from my account I am a VERY good QVC customer. I would hate to have to end this fine relationship we have. Please tell your hosts and venders to keep their political opinions to themselves. Not all of your buyers support this warmongering administration. Thank you.

25. Thanks ... I'm sending my email off too, I've been with them since
the CVN days too.

My sentiments:

Dear QVC,

I watched your show yesterday and, for the second time, the Quacker Factory vendor espoused her political opinions about the war in Iraq. She stated that people should support the war by buying her products because the troops are defending this country. In reality, that is not true, since there are currently investigations reaching the highest levels of the White House about the manufactured intelligence that led this country into and unjustified war where there was no threat. At the same time, Newsweek's cover page is running a story about how more than 65% of the people in this country don't support the war effort.

Please have the vendors refrain from espousing their views in the future--whether they be for or against the war. This country's political climate is so volatile that to continue to do so would only cost you customers, including me.

Sincerely,

xxxxx

36. Sometimes I watch the Home Shopping Network for laughs
and a couple of weeks ago they had Susan Lucci on with the most gaudy hideous watches. Red, white and blue flag designs made from some sparkly material. She and some other woman were babbling about how the watches were such a great way to support the troops. Yeah, the troops really get a morale boost from people wearing ugly, sparkly watches, I'm sure.
