Rush Limbaugh
We need to stop turning on his program and listening. I know most of us don't and I know to some it's like watching a train wrech and you can't turn away from it. Seriously we can't give his drug induced diatribes the benefit of any bump in the audience share.

Anyone who resorts to namecalling of a member of our armed forces and/or an Iraq War Veteran doesn't deserve it.

1. I agree.
The man is always going to be like this. He's never going to see the light of reason.

And all people here are doing by listening to him IS adding to his audience share.

We don't have to listen to him every day to know that he is our enemy. No need to boost his ratings in the process.

2. I've never listened to him, and never will
Just reading some of the stuff he says and seeing his pictures are enough to keep me away forever. Besides, why pollute "my beautiful mind" (thanks, gargoyle Barbara!) with such filth?

;-)

3. Fairness Doctrine
When we win in 2008, the first thing that has to happen is the restoration of the Fairness Doctrine to at least force stations to carry programs that feature the truth, as opposed to his drug-addled hatred. And if we do the job right, it will drive him off the air permanently (hopefully into a prison cell).

13. I hope you are right.
Reinstating the Fairness Doctrine will be a hard sell today. Media has changed a bunch since 1987. We need to get both houses.

6. Gotta admit, its the "train wreck" thing........
I do from time to time listen to hacks like Hannity, Limbaugh and other local radio wannabes. I also look at the rantings and writings from some right wing webpages. I can only stand so much before Yoko singing to an accordion becomes preferable, but I feel I get some perspective from it.

It ain't for everybody!

19. Still Ongoing
He just lost another round down here in Palm Beach. Barry Krischer is going through with the investigation on his doctor shopping. It's funny if this would have happened to anyone else, they would have already been in jail.

Oh yeah, my ears hurt if I listen to him. When he was n ESPN for a week, I stopped watching it. YUCK

7. We need to stop telling people what to watch and listen to....
Somebody has to watch these people. Otherwise, you will not know your enemies when they are standing at yor back with an ice pick.

10. How do you know who "they" are?
How do you even know Rush Limbaugh's name? I may listen to the guy for 3 minutes a day to see what the Repub talking point is that has been sent out to right wing radio across the nation, to see what they are talking about. But, I would agree that people that listen to Limbaugh etc for enlightenment are looking at the wrong place. However, I think it is a strategic failure to totally ignore your enemies.

15. I didn't say don't keep tabs on OxyRush
only to quit helping his audience share. I get info on Rush diatribes from Media Matters. Franken is great for calling Rush and Hannity out on his lies and deceptions.

11. I disagree
I disagree.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram, Ann Coulter etc... all need to be listened to for a very simple reason.

We need to know what talking points they are spewing so we can refute them. No battle can be won without knowing the enemy.

So despise them, but listen to them. REad between their bullshit and disassemble them.

12. We ALL need to simply refer to him as a washed up drug addict
Keep saying that and only that when ever his name is brought up. The is the most effective way (as we have learned from the republicans) do take him down.

14. I usually hear Rush Limbaugh quotes on "The Al Franken Show"
or the website www.mediamatters.org

I rarely turn to "The Rush Limbaugh Show" on my radio dial.
