New Traitorgate: Miller's Source Revealed - She Met w/Libby, Read Docs
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 08:28 AM by writes2000
This is HUGE, IMO.

In this detailed column, several things are revealed.

1) Judith Miller MET with Libby Lewis on July 8th where they discussed Wilson/Plame.

2) Fitzgerald seems convinced that Miller was shown documents in that meeting.

3) Even though Libby has admitted to the meeting, he has not given Miller the specific waiver to allow her to testify. In fact, according to Miller, Libby made her promise to keep their meeting secret.

4) So far, it is unclear whether Bush has asked Libby to provide Miller with the waiver. So much for the White House providing full cooperation.

1. So now the question is,does Libby have clearance for that kind of
intel?

Where did HE get it?

Or from whom did he get it?

That is the question

Plus, while discussing this with people who might not be as well informed, it would be a good idea to almost chart the hierarchy of the White House staff and the Veep's staff.

Just to show it doesn't get much higher than this.

Like, only 2 people above this level

2. It shows several things....
1) It shows that Libby was the source. Why would he need Miller to keep the details of their meeting secret unless he was the one giving out info?

2) It shows that the White House is lying when they say they are cooperating.

3) It shows that this was more than just a random phone call or two. They had a meeting where this was a mjor topic of conversation.

Yes, where Libby got the info is a key question but as time goes on, it becomes more and more clear that Libby is a big fat liar. He claimed he got the info from Russert. Not only has Russert denied it, how much do you want to bet that Libby spoke to Russert sometime AFTER this July 8th date?

3. But if Libby has admitted to the meeting July 8,
doesn't that free Miller from any commitment to confidentiality? As I understood the article, Libby said they met and gave his version of what happened. Since he has revealed himself as the source Miller said she went to jail to protect, it would seem that Fitzgerald has every right to expect her to testify to see what she said happened at the meeting. Or am I missing something here?
