What % of Americans think that world war III would be a good thing?
It seems to me that a certain group of end timing nuts want a
fiery end to the world because Jesus would come back and
all heathens and people like me would go to hell as they
get lifted to the clouds on which they can stick a "Support the Troops"
ribbon.

1. looks like 20-30%, *'s base....
As long as Faux and Limpballs told them it was so, they would go along with it. I am sure it would be something like "Time to bring our great American way of life to Heaven!".....

4. yes, his base is that large but there is a distinguishing factor between
conservatives (paleo and neo) and rapture rightists. Hardcore rapture rightists comprise a minority even within *'s base, but it is indeed a sizeable majority, I would say nearly 10% of American population (keep in mind that there are many end-timers who are either apolitical or not Bushies for some reason).

6. Agreed
but I would still argue that on top of there there are a significant number of folks who have drunk so deeply of the kool aid that they will believe anything, and do anything, if they are told so by their masters. I am sure the approporiate language could be concocted to make it unclear exactly what was expected to really happen (i.e. lots of them dying!)

2. Most freepers think we are already in one.... not just the rapture right
either... or I should say even those freepers who don't think the "War on Islam" doesn't represent the end days.

5. One a second thought, I think that if Gallup asked this question
the percentage answering "Yes, I think World War III would be a good thing" would be * (Less than 1 percent).

7. Three Republicans that think/thought the end is nigh..
James Watt, Sec of Interior under Reagan - "After the last tree is felled, Christ will come back,"

Reagan - "For the first time ever, everything is in place for the battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ. It can't be too long now. Ezekiel says that fire and brimstone will be rained upon the enemies of God's people. That must mean that they will be destroyed by nuclear weapons."

Bush the Lesser - Sorry, I can't find the exact quote, but once, when asked what he thought future generations were going to say about him, he replied there were going to be no future generations (or words to that effect.)
