Absurd LTTEs "criticizing bush/war is helping the terrorists" PuHLease
read another one today. Right. Members of a terrorist cell in Iraq or elsewhere are reading local papers in small/midsized cities in the US... and when reading a critical letter pump their fist and yell their version of "YES!" - and thus feel emboldened to go on a suicide bomb mission. As if.

Some memes from the right are so incredibly absurd, and lacking of ANY logic that it is painful.

But not as painful as the knowledge that others will read/hear and miss the absurdity of the statement - and on a superficial level nod in agreement with the writer of the letter.

*sigh*

1. "Of course the people don't want war.
But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

2. This particular talking point is being recycled again...
Anyone who questions the war or the president is a terrorist ally. Its a ridiculous notion to most thinking people, but dangerous in that so many sheeple view their own fellow Americans as enemies simply for questioning US actions in Iraq.

5. What can you say...
they're dopes. The sames ones who will be leading the attack against the next dem president. They're just like the big dumb linemen on a football team whose job it is to block and bruise the opposition.

9. They are dopes, but they're dangerous dopes.
If they had their way, we'd labeled as enemies of the state and shipped off to Gitmo thus insuring a one-party system of absolute power.

3. Isn't there a Hitler quote
that would fit here? Something about if you don't support the Reich you are supporting the enemy?
