That the rescue was successful - that countries and people working together can perform humane acts such as this. Perhaps one day that will be the norm. As it should be.

... that they'd never see those guys again. The Russian officer who spoke to the media was bubbling over with happiness.
I'll bet this rescue has done more to soothe international tensions than a dozen Bush "charm offensives" -- oh wait, those things actually ESCALATE conflict.
