Bush Plans to Fire Prosecutor
Is this true? I thought he was going to try to replace Fizgerald's boss but not Fitzgerald?

Sunday 7th August 2005 (16h41) :

Bush Plans to Fire Prosecutor by Tom Flocco - August 7, 2005 TomFlocco.com
Sunday morning online editions of Newsweek and Time are reporting that the President is planning to fire Chicago’s U.S. Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald and replace him with a Bush classmate/Skull and Bonesman from Yale.

Following on the heels of these reports, we have learned from U.S. intelligence sources that federal agents are prepared to immediately arrest Mr. Bush if he fires Fitzgerald and seeks to obstruct justice and commit additional treasonous acts regarding ongoing grand jury proceedings against his administration and himself.

TomFlocco.com reported last week that Fitzgerald’s grand jury voted out perjury and obstruction of justice "True Bills" or federal criminal indictments against President Bush, Vice-President Cheney, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez, former Attorney General John Ashcroft, former CIA Director George Tenet, Presidential Senior Advisor Karl Rove, Presidential Chief of Staff Andrew Card, Vice-Presidential Chief of Staff I. "Scooter" Libby, imprisoned New York Times reporter Judith Miller and Vice-Presidential Senior Advisor Mary Matalin.

On Friday, federal whistleblower Tom Heneghen reported that the true bills also listed Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Justice Antonin Scalia as unindicted co-conspirators.

3. He isn't a rumor monger.
That might suggest that his stories have some basis in rumored fact. Flocco just makes his shit up.

2. If this is true it would take great big
cajones. I cannot fathom that even Bush would be this openly dishonest. I guess we'll see. I'm not sure about anything from Flocco though either.

But this article seems to be flawed. Fitzgerald isn't being fired, so far as I know His immediate supervisor, Deputy Attorney General James Comey, left DOJ to accept the post of general counsel at Lockheed Martin. He, and not Fitzgerald, is to be replaced, perhaps by Associate Attorney General Robert McCallum who is was old a member of Shrub's Skull and Bones class at Yale.

There is no way the Bush administration could get away with firing Fitzgerald, and it would be political suicide to try to limit the scope of his investigation.

Here's the link to the MSNBC article on the departure of Comey:

17. Nope, the story is about firing Fitz's BOSS. Read the link you posted..
"Newsweek: Leak prosecutor's boss likely to be replaced with Bush
classmate; 'Skull and Bones'" it says.

8. DISINFORMATION ALERT
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 12:14 PM by FreepFryer
Even if true, it's the prosecutor's BOSS who may be replaced, not Fitzgerald himself.

{edit} Story here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8853002/site/newsweek/ {/edit}

More to the point, the stories of the Grand Jury indictments having been issued, and including GWB and most of his Cabinet, as well as the naming of Scalia and Rehnquist as 'unindicted co-conspirators', smacks of disinformation.

There is no mention of this on Time or Newsweek's online pages today.

In addition, there have been allegations that some of those involved may indeed be known disinformation sources.

Please resist spreading this story as fact until any of it can be independently corroborated.

Flocco is 100% reliable in that he has been 100% WRONG on everything he spouts.

10. This is Incorrect, I Believe.
Newsweek's story says that Fitzgerald's boss in the federal investigation - Deputy Attorney General - is stepping down. Bush wants his replacement to be an old time friend who was in the Skull & Bones.

I don't believe the article is about Bush deciding to fire Fitzgerald.
