Cindy Sheehan was just on "The New" CNN/Headline News!
Actually, it looks like CNN has FINALLY brought back the Old CNN/HLN!

I stated watching last night when Judy Fortine, one of the 35 year old+ female anchors they got rid of in 2001, was doing ACTUAL NEWS!

AND, the "Way to big Graphics" are gone too, cut back to only one line of info and a one-line crawl on the bottom of the screen!

It looks like they may be bringing Judy back grudgingly though, because they had a really strong, hard light on her, very bad for a woman who is most likely in her mid 40's.

Another Female anchor from the past, Katherine Calloway, is doing the News Now!

below is the link to the thread I started last night when I first noticed this change:

1. A local witch
er...woman was formerly on CNN Headline news too. Andrea Zinga, who ran a poison, and unsuccessful, campaign against Lane Evans for representative in Illinois' 17th congressional district. So if they ever bring her back, that is not a good thing.

9. I'm pretty sure she was on in the early '90's
My memory isn't all that good but when she went on Headline news, it was a big deal around here. She was a local anchor for quite a long time and to see her on Headline news was sort of cool until we found out about her poisonous personality. I did manage to see her a few times. Another note about locals in national media. Dave Revson who is on ESPN got his very first media job on WHBF tv in Rock Island, IL, which is Lane Evans' hometown and my birthplace. Try and contain your yawns over that real boring news.

2. CYA bullcrap, they're trying to make it look like Op. Mockingbird ended
Don't trust them. They are not going to "reform" on their own. Period.

5. Op. Mockingbird would imply they were reporting false info, right?
If so, that wouldn't describe at all what they did to CNN/HLN, with this, they just stripped it of all actual News and replaced it with cute young girls, "entertainment news" and a screen jammed full of ridiculous graphics.

They said they were going after the 18-26 demographic, because they don't watch the News, well guess what, they DON'T watch the News.

And it only took them 4 years of crap ratings to figure it out.

8. All I'm saying is, some things have finally changed
I didn't say it was perfect yet, just less annoying.

And they have covered 2 Anti-RW agenda events in less than 24 hours, which is progress to me. I still have the sound off, so I don't know what they are saying 24/7, but at least, after 4 years of waiting, some changes have been made.

I'm still in the "Wait and see" mode too. See I live in the Atlanta Metro, and I do the type of work they do at CNN, AND I currently need a Job.

For the last 4 years (or 2 that I've been un-employed), I've been too disgusted to even think about applying down there, but if these changes stick, I may be able to deal with them now. Plus, I'll be a LW Mole!

6. Because they've earned you mistrust over the last 4 years.
It's going to take a long time, and a lot of no-frills reporting to rebuild an audience.

I'm just hoping they don't do this for a month, not see any ratings improvement in their ratings, and then just go back to the same old crap they did the last 4 years.
