Cindy Sheehan nailed a frame around *
From http://www.frameshopisopen.com/">Dr. Feldman's Frameshop:

On Wednesday August 3, President Bush issued a statement in which he made the deaths of American soldiers a key reason for remaining in Iraq:

"We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission. (So that) the families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."

Within minutes, Cindy Sheehan responded:

"We want our loved ones' sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are? We would like for him to explain this 'noble cause' to us, and plan to ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble. If he is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal."

(for the full account of this exchange, go here)

In response to his attempt to frame the deaths of more and more soldiers in Iraq, Cindy stole the ball right out of the President's hands. That is to say, she stole "honor" from the President's statement and turned it into the kick-off statement of her protest against the President's policy to stay the course in Iraq.

As the President defined it, "honor" was inaction. To "honor" our fallen soldiers, in the President's view, was to follow blindly the will of a President.

More here.

It's time for Jenna and Barbara to put their sweet asses where their father's mouth is.:patriot:

12. Of course it isn't the parent's choice
It would be an interesting twist though. Until are kids are old enough, say 50 years old, they can't go to war unless we give them permission. A draft? No matter. As a mother, it is up to me.

Conversely I guess we could say "Get that room clean or it's to the army with you" No, that part is a bit too much power.

As for bush, he also supported Viet Nam and didn't quite make it there. His girls can't follow the his path out. First of all they don't have to, there is no draft threatening them. But most of all the National Guard is no way to avoid war these days, just a way to get sent there without proper training or equipment.

So what could bush say? They have to follow a new family tradition, can't face being sent to harms way, wouldn't be prudent.

14. Hell, he'll probably send them. I don't think he's truly capable of
even loving them - he's just too cold and callous to love anybody.

I'm also shocked that none of these stories have been promoted to the Front Page of DU. Maybe on Monday?

That about sums it up, now doesn't it? No further clarification or argument needed in your next freeper debate.
