Condi assures us that the insurgency is "losing steam".
"Although at least 38 American military personnel have died over the past eleven days in Iraq, US Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice said in an interview published in Time magazine that the insurgency in Iraq is "losing steam."

"It's a lot easier to see the violence and suicide bombing than to see the rather quiet political progress that's going on in parallel," she said.

The New York Times reported Sunday that the top US military commander in the Middle East has outlined a plan to reduce American forces in Iraq by some 20,000 to 30,000 troops by the middle of next year.

Senator Joseph Biden, a Democrat, told Fox News Sunday there are not enough US troops in Iraq to counter the ongoing insurgency."

Let's see:
The "failed insurgency" of Hillary.
The "insurgency in it's last throes" of Cheney.
The "insurgency losing steam" of Condi.

Can "The light at the end of the tunnel" be far behind? Rev up the choppers for the glorious withdrawal from the embassy rooftop.

1. I recall a line from Doonesbury during the Vietnam war
about "the light at the end of the tunnel."

"General, why, when you have dug yourself into a hole, do you insist on calling it a tunnel?"

2. Right, Condi! And Saddam had tons of WMD stockpiles, too!
Girl needs a shrink and maybe some robust antipsychotic pharmaceuticals. Given the Bush Cadre's close ties to the PhRMA Cartel, you'd think they could get some free samples for Condelusional Rice...

4. Dean Had A Good Point
If they allow 30,000 soldiers out of Smirky's Hell House, won't the other 120,000 become even more vulnerable?

I guess it is infinitely easier to make decisions that will kill thousands of soldiers and civilians if you have never experienced the carnage for yourself.

5. OK, Condi, let's test this interesting hypothesis
We'll drop you in Sadr City at 10 p.m. wearing a Bring em On tshirt and let's see the steam evaporating. I'll even kick in a matchbox to send your remains home in. Sound good? Get back to me, now....
