Iconoclast from Crawford, TX To Be Posting Cindy Sheehan Updates
Just got off the phone.

The folks at The Lone Star Iconoclast are on Cindy's side. For those of you who don't know, this local newspaper got alot of attention last year when it endorsed John Kerry For President. They lost advertisers and the publisher and staff have been treated badly ever since. But they, like us, keep fighting on and refuse to stop speaking out. They have started Cindy Watch for updates on what's going on in Crawford right now at http://www.iconoclast-texas.com

Here's a statement from their publisher, W. Leon Smith:

CRAWFORD Ñ The Lone Star Iconoclast, by popular demand, has begun filing frequent updates on its website, www.iconoclast-texas.com, regarding the vigil taking place near Crawford. The banner leading to the updates is called ÒCindy Watch.Ó

Cindy Sheehan on Saturday made a journey to Crawford to discuss face-to-face with President George W. Bush the death of her son in Iraq last year. The Iconoclast was there when marchers made a trek toward the Bush ranch and the newspaper reported on its website a play-by-play of what happened.

Normally, The Iconoclast updates its website weekly, to correspond with the weekly publication of its print edition. ÒWe felt that in this case it was warranted to provide more frequent updates,Ó said publisher W. Leon Smith.

....

ÒPlease remember that we have a very small staff,Ó said Smith, Òbut we are willing to do what we can to get the news of Ms. SheehanÕs quest published online as early and as frequently as we can, as news happens.Ó

2. I just subscribed to this wonderful little paper to show my support
for them. I did before when they endorsed Kerry, but this time I'm going to actually have them send me the paper - last time I asked them to give my subscription to someone in the area that maybe couldn't afford a subscription, but this time I really want to read it. Hope other people do this too. Thanks for the info & link.
