Public School Contracts to a Faith Based Christian Agency for Teachers
I'll start at the beginning. I answered an ad on an employment site for a Special Education Teacher's Assistant. The ad said they were an agency called King's Kids Resources. I never heard of such a thing before, so I tried doing a Google Search on them.

I kept coming up with Christian Ministries in all parts of the world. Their website said their mission was to spread the word of Jesus. I tried searching their site for schools, but came up blank. So I did more searches and found that they did have some Christian schools in the South and out West, but could find nothing in the Northeast.

So, I did an I'm Feeling Lucky Google. I found two sites. One was at a local Catholic college with the same listing I found on that employment site. The other was mind boggling. I found the minutes of one local public school board meeting and a listing of all contracts for the following school year. There among the other contracts was one for Kings Kid's Resources.

Let me guess. Is this more our Faith Based Initiatives? Are they getting GOVERNMENT money to hire a "christian" agency to screen teachers for them? WHY? Is that a new requirement for teaching in Public Schools?
New teachers must be CHRISTIANS? This school district is a virtual MELTING POT, with a very good percentage of Asians, Arabs and Jews.

I just got a call from this agency, but didn't pick up the phone. After doing this search, I am furious. They must have seen from my resume that I graduated from a Catholic HS and that is why they called. There is NO WAY I would EVER go through this kind of agency, or even work for a PUBLIC SCHOOL District which would stoop to something like this.

I just cannot believe the long arm of Bush's Faith Based Initiates has reached this point.

2. You ought to take the job
Esp. if you need it. I'd rather you be in there teaching kids than someone whom they'd rather recruit.

4. What were they contracted to do?
Or is it just a list of contracts?

I'd contact your local school board office - find out exactly what they were contracted to do, and, more to the point, who they are contracted to do it for.

5. The right wing has been putting people on school boards for years

I wish I could say this surprised me, but it doesn't. Contact the teacher's union for that district and let them know what is going on.

edit: you might also consider contacting the NEA office nearest you. They need to know what is going on in the local districts.

7. I think that you *should* take the job, and here is why:
It would be one less person with an agenda teaching in the school. Also, you would be in a position to hear if they instruct their new hires to carry out an agenda.

I believe that we must find everyone of these organizations that are receiving fbi money and make a matrix of their activity. We really need to follow the money and keep our eyes on these organizations.

I cannot begin to tell you how upset I am that this crap is going on :grr:
